Marco Cocconcelli received his M.S. degree in mechanical engineering and his Ph.D. degree in applied mechanics from the University of Bologna in Bologna, Italy, in 2003 and 2007, respectively. In 2007, he joined the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in Reggio Emilia, Italy, where he is currently an associate professor of applied mechanics in the Department of Sciences and Methods for Engineering. His research interests include the diagnostics of bearings and gears, condition monitoring of machineries, and history of mechanisms and machine science. He is a member of the Italian branch of the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science (IFToMM-Italy).
