Noncircular bevel gear can achieve variable transmission between intersecting axes. This article proposes the design method of high-order noncircular bevel gear with concave pitch curve. The parametric equations for driving and driven gear, addendum and dedendum surface under given transmission ratio and axis angle are established in a spherical polar coordinate system. The tooth profile equation of noncircular bevel gear is derived according to the generation method by using bevel gear cutter. The three-dimensional model for noncircular bevel gear is developed to verify the correctness of the design method.

In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of special machining for a complex surface, a 2RPU-2SPR (where R, P, U, and S stand for revolute, prismatic, universal, and spherical joints, respectively) over-constrained redundantly actuated parallel robot mechanism is proposed. And six performance evaluation indexes are established to ensure the working performance including workspace, motion/force transmission efficiency, stiffness, dexterity, energy efficiency, and the inertia coupling index. Furthermore, a collaborative optimal configuration algorithm is conducted based on an orthogonal experimental design algorithm and a multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm. On the basis given above, a simulation analysis of a multi-objective optimization is conducted. Compared with two traditional, intelligent optimization algorithms of a multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm and an orthogonal experimental design method, the improved collaborative multi-objective optimization algorithm has a better optimization effect.

Ankle sprains are among the most common musculoskeletal injuries. Patients often require systematic rehabilitation training to expedite tissue healing and facilitate joint recovery. However, such training places high demands on medical staff, involves a lengthy process, requires considerable labor, and suffers from a shortage of skilled rehabilitation personnel. To address the need for effective ankle joint dysfunction rehabilitation training, this study analyzes the bone structure and movement mechanism of the ankle. Drawing on the parallel mechanism configuration, we propose a 4UPS-RRR parallel ankle rehabilitation mechanism. The rotation center of the rehabilitation mechanism can be highly coincident with the rotation center of the human ankle joint. The structure and degrees of freedom of the mechanism were designed and analyzed using screw theory. Additionally, a kinematic model of the mechanism was established. The mechanism's workspace was mapped by constraining the linear actuator length and spherical joint rotation angle. Furthermore, the mechanism's dexterity was assessed through the establishment of its Jacobian matrix, with the correctness of the kinematic model verified through simulation. Finally, an experimental platform was utilized to test the maximum range of robot motion, confirming the practicality of the ankle rehabilitation mechanism.

In this paper, a leg structure of quadruped robot was designed, based on mechanism synthesis, and aims to allow a system for the complex control of a quadruped robot. This structure is composed of a crank linkage mechanism and quadrilateral mechanism. The innovativeness of this robot is that it can achieve a special gait driven only by single motor. In this research, we set up the kinematic model of leg mechanism through an analytic method. Then we draw the foot track of multiple groups of parameters and select the best parameter group by comparing multiple groups of parameters. After that, the robot model was built and analyzed for its walking ability and climbing ability with virtual prototype technology. Finally, we made an experimental prototype to trial the motion ability of the robot. Simulation and experimental analysis prove that the mechanism is reasonable, reliable and can meet the requirements of linear walking and climbing. The conclusions of this research will be useful for application in the field of single actuated quadruped robots.

As a type of spatial transmission mechanism, noncircular bevel gears (NBGs) can transfer power and motion between two intersecting axes with variable transmission following a suitable program of motion. Utilizing the spherical triangle theorem and meshing principle, parametric equations are established in the spherical polar coordinate system for the driving and driven gears, for the pitch curves, and for the addendum and dedendum curves of a NBG for a given transmission ratio and axis angle. A formulation of the tooth profile of a NBG is deduced using an analytic method. Three-dimensional models of the 3- and 4-lobed NBGs are derived in verifying this method.
