Deputy head of the Department of Pediatric Ophthalmology. Scientific and medical achievements are mainly related to pediatric ophthalmology,including premature babies,and to the pioneering development of color Doppler ultrasonography as the first in this field for the diagnosis of vascular ophthalmic diseases in Poland.Currently,scientific and medical development is mainly related to pediatric,premature,myopia and squint ophthalmology.Another area of interest is the prevention of blindness in premature infants and the creation of the only ophthalmological treatment center for premature infants and the introduction of laser and anti-VEGF therapies in the treatment of retinopathy of prematurity.An additional task is the implementation of numerous research projects in the field of refractive errors,changes in hemodynamics of retrobulbar circulation in ophthalmic diseases,changes in circulation and myopia, assessment of refractive errors in the pediatric population /approx. 3,180 children/, implementation of an external project in the health policy program: "Detection of eye defects and diseases among 2nd grade students of primary schools" moreover, cooperation with the University of Szczecin in the assessment of physical activity of children with refractive errors, analysis of many ophthalmological diseases in the pediatric population and in the adult population, entry into the EU-ROP program. Author of over 243 scientific papers.
