Juan Diaz (M’02) was born in Mieres, Spain, in 1966. He received M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad de Oviedo, Gijon, Spain, in 1990 and 1995, respectively. Since 1990, he has been a Professor at the Universidad de Oviedo. His current research interests include switching-mode power supplies, resonant power conversion, piezoelectrics, DC high-voltage applications, and the design of systems based on microcontrollers and field-programmable gate arrays.
