Pedro José Villegas Sáiz (M’96) was born in Suances, Spain, in 1965. He received his M.Sc. and
Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Oviedo, Gijón, Spain, in 1991 and 2000,
respectively. Since 2003, he has been an Associate Professor at the Área de Tecnología Electrónica, Departamento de Ingeniería Eléctrica, Electrónica, de Computadores y Sistemas, University of Oviedo. He has published several papers in international electronics conference proceedings and international journals, and he has been involved in diverse power electronics research and development projects. His research interests include switching-mode power supplies, converter modeling, high-power-factor rectifiers, and high-power and high-voltage power supplies.
