Throughout history, honey has been used to treat various diseases. The present work examined and assessed the in vivo anti-inflammatory potential of Moroccan thyme honey and its association with essential oils from three selected plants: Origanum vulgare L.; Mentha spicata L.; Eucalyptus globulus L. The chemical composition of the essential oils was studied, and preliminary toxicity, in vitro anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial tests were conducted. Then the anti-inflammatory effect was determined by applying carrageenan and an experimental trauma-induced paw edema test in rats. The essential oils were rich in phytochemicals and showed significant antibacterial activity against four selected ATCC bacterial strains. The results revealed the significant anti-inflammatory potential of honey and mixtures with essential oils and indicated higher efficiency of mixtures compared to honey alone. It can be concluded that the mixtures of honey and essential oils have advantageous anti-inflammatory effects and may be used for treating different types of inflammation in humans after certain clinical trials.

Context: Asthma is a growing health problem worldwide, including Africa and Morocco, triggered by environmental factors and allergens. Aims: To investigate the factors influencing asthma control. Methods: This retrospective observational study was conducted in the city of Guelmim, southern Morocco, during the year 2023. It included 118 patients with asthma, and health professionals administered a questionnaire based on the recommendations of the Global Asthma Initiative 2021. Results: Age between 38 and 48 years, non-smoking status, and living in a sunny, ventilated house were negatively associated with uncontrolled asthma and acted as protective factors. The absence of a history of COVID-19, strong adherence to treatment and the use of natural honey combined with medic-inal plants were negatively associated with uncontrolled asthma. The presence of comorbidities, allergic rhinitis, hypertension, gastroesophageal reflux disease, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), dyspnea, and nocturnal cough were identified as risk factors for uncontrolled asthma. In multivariate analysis, age 38 to 48 years (adjusted OR: 0.44, 95% CI: 0.33 to 1.20), ventilated and sunny homes (adjusted OR: 0.55, 95% CI: 0.33 to 2.10), no exposure to air pollutants (adjusted OR: 1.50, 95% CI: 0.50-6. 85), high adherence to treatment (adjusted OR: 0. 10, 95% CI: 0.10-1.20), comor-bidities (adjusted OR: 2.74, 95% CI: 0.99-10.22), COPD and use of natural honey combined with herbs (adjusted OR: 1.75, 95% CI: 1.5-3.45) remained significantly associated with asthma control. Conclusions: The study highlights the need for comprehensive asthma management strategies that include medical treatment, socioeconomic factors, and environmental exposures.

The medicinal herb Centaurium erythraea is well-known for its natural ability to treat digestive issues like dyspepsia and liver insufficiency by promoting the secretions of the liver and esophagus. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of Centaurium erythraea extracts in treating diabetes. Decoction and Soxhlet procedures were used to examine the extracts, with water serving as the solvent. The extracts were tested for antioxidant capacity, antimicrobial effects, and inhibitory effects on alpha-amylase activity. In comparison to the aqueous extract, the decocted extract had higher levels of polyphenols, total tannins, and anthocyanins, as well as more effective antioxidant capacities. Due to its reduction of alpha-amylase activity and enteric absorption of glucose, Centaurium erythraea has also shown considerable anti-hyperglycemic action.

The approaches used in clinical and therapeutic monitoring in addictology are multiple and generally based on subjective instruments such as interviews or observations. However, the lack of frankness can be an obstacle, as the patients monitored may not be entirely honest in their responses, and improvement in symptoms does not always mean continued abstinence. This article proposes a new objective method for monitoring the clinical and therapeutic evolution of addicted patients based on the study of electro-physiological changes collected by digitized electroencephalogram (EEG). The study is a case-control study of 30 hospitalized addicts who met the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders (DSM-V) criteria for substance use disorders substance use disorders (SUD) and who underwent a standard digitized EEG at the end of their hospitalization. A control group of 30 healthy individuals was also included. This research shows a dominance of rapid-frequency beta 2 and hypovolted alpha 2 rhythms in cases with a clear sensitivity to activating maneuvers occasioned by hyperpnoea (HPN) and intermittent light stimulation (ISL) giving either a significant slowing of electrogenesis, bi-occipital entrainment, or an oculo-clonic response signifying a need for further care. However, the major challenge in understanding the EEG signal is that it is not always specific to SUD and suggests the need to consider the trans-diagnostic framework.

Background & Objective. Peer learning is increasingly recognized as a central strategy in competency-based nursing education, enhancing knowledge construction, clinical reasoning, communication skills, and learner autonomy. In Morocco, however, its use remains limited by traditional teaching approaches and structural constraints. This study aimed to explore the factors that influence peer learning ...
