This study aims to assess the impact of IT governance on banks’ financial performance in the context of Palestine while controlling for bank-specific and governance variables. The sample consists of six local banks listed on the Palestine Exchange over the period 2008–2019. While IT governance is proxied by the presence of IT experience within board of directors and within executive management, performance is provided by two accounting measures, namely Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE). Using a path analysis and a General Linear Model (GLM), results show that there is a positive impact of IT governance on both performance measures, only when measured by IT executives. Our results highlight the importance of IT governance and confirm the need to develop and improve the corporate governance codes in Palestine to strengthen IT governance.
This study aims to focus on identifying how unemployment and inflation and their related aspects affect Palestinian economic growth. The study employed the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model employing annual time series data for estimate and result analysis. The ARDL model was estimated in both long and short run as follows; on one hand, the results showed that there is a potential negative impact of aspects-related unemployment on economic growth in Palestine over the long-term. On the other hand, over the long term also, it can be noticed that there is a positive impact of aspects-related inflation on economic growth in the state of Palestine. In the short term, a significant negative effect of unemployment (UN) was discovered on economic growth, while there was no effect of inflation (INF), despite being positive. The error-correction model (ECM) has been adopted in this model, and the results revealed that the ECM co-efficient [ECM (−1)] was positive and equaled to (0.0183) and therefore was not significant. Based on the results obtained, the study recommended that there a need to stabilize inflation through effective price control mechanisms that can enhance macroeconomic conditions, increase investor confidence, stimulate economic growth, and work to create opportunities for the full use of human resources by stimulating self-employment to engage in entrepreneurial activities according to the qualifications of graduates. Finally, it equips population, especially youth, with relevant skills to increase productivity and reduce unemployment.

This study offers a comprehensive analysis of logistics functions in the construction industry and the challenges that affect project performance. In contrast to prior studies emphasizing logistics solutions, this study concentrates on identifying the challenges impeding efficient logistics management, which frequently result in delays and cost overruns. The study reviews 40 knowledge sources through a critical literature review to identify key logistics functions and their associated challenges. The logistics functions and associated challenges in the construction industry are categorized and analyzed through a systematic review of the literature. The study identifies six major logistics functions: planning and resource allocation, communication and coordination, materials management, inventory management and warehousing, transportation, and reverse logistics. Each function is associated with specific challenges, such as poor integration with suppliers and a lack of clarity regarding responsibilities in communication and coordination. By highlighting these challenges, the study aims to improve construction performance and address a gap in the existing literature, which often prioritizes solutions over the identification of underlying logistical issues. The findings offer a valuable foundation for researchers to further investigate these challenges and formulate targeted solutions and mitigation strategies, ultimately contributing to improved productivity and cost management in the construction sector.

This study aims to understand and evaluate the impact of applying governance principles on digital transformation in Palestinian banks listed on the Palestine Stock Exchange. A questionnaire was distributed to 750 employees from the study population. It included four axes representing governance principles (board of directors’ tasks, board practices and conflicts of interest, disclosure and transparency, and risk management) and a fifth axe representing digital transformation. The study found a strong, statistically significant positive effect of applying governance principles on digital transformation in Palestinian banks. The results also showed the keenness of the boards of directors to discuss the commitment of bank management to implement the provisions and regulations of governance issued by the Palestine Monetary Authority. This helped in developing and approving the necessary policies for risk management and enhanced the effectiveness of oversight of the digital transformation system. This was reflected in increasing customer confidence in the banks’ performance and maintaining the interests of related parties. The study recommended the need to enhance the level of transparency and disclosure regarding governance performance and the progress of digital transformation in banks. It also recommended developing an integrated framework for analyzing and managing risks related to digital transformation. This assists in providing comprehensive training and development programs for practitioners to enhance their capabilities in the field of digital transformation and applying governance principles.
The purpose of this paper is to explore electronic payments, which are considered one of the most important tools in financial technology. Hence, electronic payments play a great role in enhancing the financial performance of the Bank of Palestine. The study uses three dependent variables such as return on assets (ROA), return on equity (ROE) and earnings per share (EPS). The study methodology employs a descriptive and analytical approach to investigate the bank’s data during the period of 2010–2019. Hence, the findings show that electronic payment methods have an important impact on the bank’s financial performance, through the return on assets and equity indicators, which helps to reduce costs and thus increase profits. However, there is no statistically significant effect on the earnings per share. What is more, the Bank of Palestine uses a wide variety of electronic payment methods. Thus, the study suggests the necessity to increase the effectiveness of the information security from fraud risks, in addition to activating supervisory and regulatory authorities (such as the Palestinian Monetary Authority), to strengthen the application of electronic payment tools.
