Bone cancer is considered a serious health problem, and, in many cases, it causes patient death. The X-ray, MRI, or CT-scan image is used by doctors to identify bone cancer. The manual process is time-consuming and required expertise in that field. Therefore, it is necessary to develop an automated system to classify and identify the cancerous bone and the healthy bone. The texture of a cancer bone is different compared to a healthy bone in the affected region. But in the dataset, several images of cancer and healthy bone are having similar morphological characteristics. This makes it difficult to categorize them. To tackle this problem, we first find the best suitable edge detection algorithm after that two feature sets one with hog and another without hog are prepared. To test the efficiency of these feature sets, two machine learning models, support vector machine (SVM) and the Random forest, are utilized. The features set with hog perform considerably better on these models. Also, the SVM model trained with hog feature set provides an -score of 0.92 better than Random forest -score 0.77.

Burn is one of the serious public health problems. Usually, burn diagnoses are based on expert medical and clinical experience and it is necessary to have a medical or clinical expert to conduct an examination in restorative clinics or at emergency rooms in hospitals. But sometimes a patient may have a burn where there is no specialized facility available, and in such a case a computerized automatic burn assessment tool may aid diagnosis. Burn area, depth, and location are the critical factors in determining the severity of burns. In this paper, a classification model to diagnose burns is presented using automated machine learning. The objective of the research is to develop the feature extraction model to classify the burn. The proposed method based on support vector machine (SVM) is evaluated on a standard data set of burns-BIP_US database. Training is performed by classifying images into two classes, i.e., those that need grafts and those that are non-graft. The 74 images of test data set are tested with the proposed SVM based method and according to the ground truth, the accuracy of 82.43% was achieved for the SVM based model, which was higher than the 79.73% achieved in past work using the multidimensional scaling analysis (MDS) approach.
An expert performs bone fracture diagnosis using an X-ray image manually, which is a time-consuming process. The development of machine learning (ML), as well as deep learning (DL), has set a new path in medical image diagnosis. In this study, we proposed a novel multi-scale feature fusion of a convolution neural network (CNN) and an improved canny edge algorithm that segregate fracture and healthy bone image. The hybrid scale fracture network (SFNet) is a novel two-scale sequential DL model. This model is highly efficient for bone fracture diagnosis and takes less computation time compared to other state-of-the-art deep CNN models. The innovation behind this research is that it works with an improved canny edge algorithm to obtain edges in the images that localize the fracture region. After that, grey images and their corresponding canny edge images are fed to the proposed hybrid SFNet for training and evaluation. Furthermore, the performance is also compared with the state-of-the-art deep CNN models on a bone image dataset. Our results showed that SFNet with canny (SFNet + canny) achieved the highest accuracy, F1-score and recall of 99.12%, 99% and 100%, respectively, for bone fracture diagnosis. It showed that using a canny edge algorithm improves the performance of CNN.
As digitization is increasing, threats to our data are also increasing at a faster pace. Generating fake videos does not require any particular type of knowledge, hardware, memory, or any computational device; however, its detection is challenging. Several methods in the past have solved the issue, but computation costs are still high and a highly efficient model has yet to be developed. Therefore, we proposed a new model architecture known as DFN (Deep Fake Network), which has the basic blocks of mobNet, a linear stack of separable convolution, max-pooling layers with Swish as an activation function, and XGBoost as a classifier to detect deepfake videos. The proposed model is more accurate compared to Xception, Efficient Net, and other state-of-the-art models. The DFN performance was tested on a DFDC (Deep Fake Detection Challenge) dataset. The proposed method achieved an accuracy of 93.28% and a precision of 91.03% with this dataset. In addition, training and validation loss was 0.14 and 0.17, respectively. Furthermore, we have taken care of all types of facial manipulations, making the model more robust, generalized, and lightweight, with the ability to detect all types of facial manipulations in videos.
Heart disease is a spontaneous, treacherous, and fatal disease. It is a group of several states that result in abnormal functioning of the heart. Based on the several pathology test report heart disease is identified by a doctor. The manual heart disease prediction is time consuming and error prone. Therefore, in the present study an automated system based on the performance analysis of several machine learning techniques has been developed. First, the well-known machine learning algorithm Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Naïve Bayes and Random Forest applied on the dataset for the prediction of heart disease. To avoid bias performance 3-fold cross validation is applied. The highest average accuracy of 87.78 % is obtained by the Naïve Bayes. The performance of the model is acceptable. Further, we have applied genetic algorithm on the dataset to optimize the features. After, optimization the highest average accuracy of 96% is achieved by the naïve Base.
Diagnosing burns in humans has become critical, as early identification can save lives. The manual process of burn diagnosis is time-consuming and complex, even for experienced doctors. Machine learning (ML) and deep convolutional neural network (CNN) models have emerged as the standard for medical image diagnosis. The ML-based approach typically requires handcrafted features for training, which may result in suboptimal performance. Conversely, DL-based methods automatically extract features, but designing a robust model is challenging. Additionally, shallow DL methods lack long-range feature dependency, decreasing efficiency in various applications. We implemented several deep CNN models, ResNeXt, VGG16, and AlexNet, for human burn diagnosis. The results obtained from these models were found to be less reliable since shallow deep CNN models need improved attention modules to preserve the feature dependencies. Therefore, in the proposed study, the feature map is divided into several categories, and the channel dependencies between any two channel mappings within a given class are highlighted. A spatial attention map is built by considering the links between features and their locations. Our attention-based model BuRnGANeXt50 kernel and convolutional layers are also optimized for human burn diagnosis. The earlier study classified the burn based on depth of graft and non-graft. We first classified the burn based on the degree. Subsequently, it is classified into graft and non-graft. Furthermore, the proposed model performance is evaluated on Burns_BIP_US_database. The sensitivity of the BuRnGANeXt50 is 97.22% and 99.14%, respectively, for classifying burns based on degree and depth. This model may be used for quick screening of burn patients and can be executed in the cloud or on a local machine.
