The results of vibration measurements at characteristic points on the belt conveyor drive of bucket wheel excavatorSRs400 manufactured by Takraf are presented in the paper. The operating processes (transport of material on the belt conveyor) belong to the category of impacts, such as fitting, acceleration, sudden loading, and the like, which are extremely pronounced in mining machinery. For monitoring purposes, measurement was undertaken in all three directions, upon overhaul and after 11,850 hours of operation. Movement, speed and acceleration of oscillations were plotted using measured data and the effect of the rear connection of the electromotor mount support on its proper performance was determined.
This paper presents a signal-processing methodology for assessing thermal stress and fatigue damage in IGBT modules. This study utilizes junction temperature data from operational frequency converters at a belt conveyor station rather than conventional approaches. These in situ measurements ensure that thermal profiles accurately reflect actual loading conditions. A reliability framework based on mission profiles assesses the contribution of each operational regime. We examine transient overloads, steady-state operation, and periods of low load specifically. We apply Miner’s rule and rainflow counts to the analyzed temperature profiles. This enables the assessment of accumulated damage in each operational segment. The primary finding indicates that a minimal duration of operational time constitutes the majority of total lifetime utilization. This disproportionate impact is attributable to transient overloads. This study quantitatively evaluates this phenomenon using Rainflow analysis to disaggregate mission profiles. The proposed framework enhances the precision of reliability engineering. It provides a valuable foundation for enhancing maintenance planning and control strategies in practical scenarios.

The paper presents an integral procedure for conducting experimental measurements on excavation machines. Excavators have a complex structure with pronounced dynamic behavior. The identification of exploitation behavior is observed through experimental measurement of stress and acceleration, drive load, and vibrations. Electro-resistive measuring tapes were used to observe the steel structure, devices for measuring current, i.e. engaged power on the drives, as well as devices for measuring vibrations at characteristic points of the drive. The results obtained realistically reflect the condition and behavior of the structure and drive equipment. The goal is to introduce systematic research to monitor the condition and behavior of the equipment on the excavator. This approach forms the backbone of predictive observation, influencing the proper management of the excavator. Experimental measurements are performed to prove the correctness of the numerical model and to diagnose the condition and behavior of the structure and power units. By monitoring the condition and behavior of the equipment, we can optimally influence the process of maintenance of the equipment as well as the lifespan of the mining machine. This work includes the most important experimental measurements to carry out reconstructions, revitalizations, and modernizations on mining machines.
In this paper, the investigation and the influence of the dynamic behavior of the structure of the structural part on the correction of human vibrations of the cabin of the unloading boom of a bucket wheel excavator are performed. Diagnostic analysis using the finite element method influenced the reconstruction of the local part of the structure to increase the first natural frequency of the given structure, i.e. to reduce the human vibrations of the unloading boom booth. This way, the lifespan of structural parts is extended, but also the health of the operator and better working conditions are affected. By monitoring the state of human vibrations in a certain time interval, before and after the reconstruction, this correct approach was proven
