Due to the large number of waterborne bacteria presenting in drinking water, their rapid and accurate identification has become a global priority. The surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor with prism (BK7)-silver(Ag)-MXene(Ti3T2Cx)-graphene- affinity-sensing medium is examined in this paper, in which the sensing medium includes pure water, vibrio cholera (V. cholera), and escherichia coli (E. coli). For the Ag-affinity-sensing medium, the maximum sensitivity is obtained by E. coli, followed by V. cholera, and the minimum is pure water. Based on the fixed-parameter scanning (FPS) method, the highest sensitivity is 246.2 °/RIU by the MXene and graphene with monolayer, and with E. coli sensing medium. Therefore, the algorithm of improved differential evolution (IDE) is obtained. By the IDE algorithm, after three iterations, the maximum fitness value (sensitivity) of the SPR biosensor achieves 246.6 °/RIU by using the structure of Ag (61 nm)-MXene (monolayer)-graphene (monolayer)-affinity (4 nm)-E. coli. Compared with the FPS and differential evolution (DE) algorithm, the highest sensitivity is more accurate and efficient, and with fewer iterations. The performance optimization of multilayer SPR biosensors provides an efficient platform.

Locust and grasshopper plagues pose a serious threat to crop production in many areas worldwide. However, there is a lack of effective, quick-acting methods to control such outbreaks. Methods exploiting the phototactic response of these insects are receiving increasing attention. The current study investigated the effect of linearly polarized and unpolarized light on locust phototactic and polarotactic responses, in particular the function of their dorsal rim area (DRA) and non-DRA visual fields. The results showed that the polarotactic function weight of DRA vision was stimulated by linearly polarized ultraviolet (UV) and violet light, the phototactic function weight was induced by blue, green, and orange light, and under linearly polarized light, the functional effect of DRA vision was strongest in response to linearly polarized violet light. Moreover, the locust visual response effect was related to spectral light attributes, with the linear polarization effect intensifying in response to the short-range vision sensitivity of non-DRA visual fields, whereas DRA vision regulated the short-range sensitivity of compound eye vision. When illumination increased, the synergistic enhancement effects of linearly polarized ultraviolet and violet light were significant, whereas the visual sensitivity was restricted significantly by linearly polarized blue, green, or orange light. Thus, non-DRA vision determined, while DRA vision enhanced, the phototactic response sensitivity, whereas, in linearly polarized UV or violet light, non-DRA vision determined, while DRA vision enhanced, the visual trend and polarotaxic aggregation sensitivity, with opposite effects in linearly polarized blue, green, or orange light. When illumination increased, there was a driving effect caused by linearly polarized violet light on non-DRA vision, whereas at short-wave lengths, the control effect induced by linearly polarized orange light was optimal; however, the photo-induced effect of linearly polarized violet light and the visual distance control effect of linearly polarized orange light were optimal. These results provide theoretical support for the photo-induced mechanism of the locust visual response effect and for the development of linearly polarized light sources for the environmentally friendly prevention and control of locust populations. To accurately measure the critical dimensions of flat parts using machine vision, an inspection method based on the adaptive chord inclination angle progressively screening the segmentation points of graphic elements was proposed in this study. The method doubled the size of the part image using bicubic interpolation, extracted the single-pixel contour with more detailed information, and designed an adaptive step size to obtain the front and back chord inclination angles of the contour. The method of complementing the front and back chord inclination angles was employed to avoid the negative effects of contour jaggedness, thereby obtaining the contour segmentation points after the initial screening. The segmentation points obtained in the initial sieving were divided into different point clusters according to the distance, and the contour, which was segmented by two segmentation points in different point clusters, was fitted using the least squares. The fitting results were evaluated, and all the fitting results were selected using the improved non-maximum suppression (NMS) algorithm to obtain the precisely selected segmentation points of the graphic elements. Consequently, the segmented individual graphic elements were fitted with the segmentation points as constraints to obtain the key dimensions of the closed part. The developed method could accurately find the contour segmentation points, and the relative error was less than 0.6%.

Potato tuber dry rot is a major postharvest decay caused predominantly by Fusarium spp. During early infection, external symptoms may be absent even when faint internal browning, localized dehydration, and tissue structure changes have begun. Manual inspection, destructive cutting, and culture- or molecular-based assays are therefore poorly suited to rapid, nondestructive, high-throughput screening. We developed a near-infrared hyperspectral imaging method that combines spatial and spectral representations in a dual-branch ResNet12-SE network. The working dataset contained 1725 labeled records (862 healthy and 863 early-infected records); records were assigned to subsets by tuber identifier, and an infected volume ratio below 5% was used as an operational early infection threshold. The calibrated model input was a 224-band, 224 × 224 hyperspectral cube. The spatial branch used a ResNet-12 backbone with spatial squeeze-and-excitation (SE), whereas the spectral branch used spectral SE followed by bidirectional long short-term memory (BiLSTM). The two feature vectors were concatenated for binary classification. In the single-split test, the proposed model achieved 98.22% accuracy, compared with 90.67% for the ResNet-12 baseline and 97.43% for Vision Transformer. Preprocessing, principal component image, local binary pattern, and gray-level co-occurrence matrix analyses provide complementary interpretation of the spectral and spatial responses. The results support the feasibility of hyperspectral screening under the controlled laboratory protocol and define the validation work required before broader deployment.

Due to the complex motion state of biomass raw materials in the granulation process of involute plunger biomass ring mold granulator, it is difficult to analyze by use of a linear mechanical model. Accordingly, a granulation simulation model of molded parts was established by coupling discrete element (DEM) and finite element (FEM) analyses. The stress and strain results of ring die and involute plunger pressure roller were analyzed. On this basis, it can be predicted that for wood pellet materials, when the pressure angle of the involute plunger involute profile is 20°, the ring mold forming hole length-diameter ratio is 4.5, the forming hole diameter is 8 mm, and the hole cone angle is 90°, the compression force on the wood pellet will be maximized at 7.89 KN, the maximum equivalent force at the ring mold forming hole and the root of the involute plunger pressure roller will be 64.2 and 84.5 MPa, respectively, and the maximum deformation will be 0.000327 and 0.000424 mm, which is within permissible limits. The involute plunger roller is more susceptible to fatigue damage compared with the ring die. By contrast, the ring part is more prone to fatigue damage in the case of a ring die.
