Agriculture is an essential sector that plays a necessary role in the economic improvement of a country. Prediction of plant diseases at the earliest stage may result in better yield and sustainable for growing population. The conventional method necessitates highly skilled inspectors to identify the phenotypic expression of different diseases. Alternatively, biochemical technologies offer more precise means of obtaining crop disease information by analyzing susceptible rice. However, these methods are time-consuming, expensive, reliant on laboratories, and require skilled professionals, rendering them unaffordable for most farmers. The paper aims to propose a solution to prevent infection at the earliest stage for the benefit of farmers. A novel crop disease detection model deploying a deep convolutional generative adversarial network (DC-GAN) and with multidimensional feature compensation Residual Neural Network (MDFC-ResNet) and named as DC-GAN-MDFC–ResNet, which aims at fine grained disease identification system detects from three aspects, bacterial leaf blight, leaf streak and panicle blight. Initially the input data undergone preprocessing using the several processes like data improvement, data normalization, and Singular value decomposition (SVD) to reduce the negative influence that the data set has on the training of the model. When compared to traditional convolution models, the suggested DC-GAN-MDFC–ResNet architecture exhibits in terms of highest classification accuracy, Segmentation free methodology and training stability. The experiments done in this work using Plant Village dataset which show the proposed technique offering improved recognition with the rate of 95.99% accuracy and generating higher quality samples compared to other well-known deep learning models.
A quick and effective way of segmenting images is the Otsu threshold method. However, the complexity of time grows exponentially as the number of thresolds rises. The aim of this study is to address the issues with the standard threshold image segmentation method’s low segmentation effect and high time complexity. The two mutations differential evolution based on adaptive control parameters is presented, and the twofold mutation approach and adaptive control parameter search mechanism are used. Superior double-mutation differential evolution views Otsu threshold picture segmentation as an optimization issue, uses the maximum interclass variance technique as the objective function, determines the ideal threshold, and then implements multi-threshold image segmentation. The experimental findings demonstrate the robustness of the enhanced double-mutation differential evolution with adaptive control parameters. Compared to other benchmark algorithms, our algorithm excels in both image segmentation accuracy and time complexity, offering superior performance.
Plant diseases pose a significant threat to global food security, with severe implications for agricultural productivity. Early and accurate detection of these diseases is crucial, yet it remains a challenging task, significantly impacting crop yields and food supply chains. Despite the progress in artificial intelligence, particularly deep learning, challenges persist in real-world applications due to environmental noise, varying light conditions, and other complicating factors that hinder detection accuracy. This study introduces the AttCM-Alex model, a novel deep-learning framework designed to boost the detection and classification of plant diseases under challenging environmental conditions. By integrating convolutional operations with self-attention mechanisms, AttCM-Alex effectively addresses the variability in light intensity and image noise, ensuring robust performance. To simulate practical agricultural scenarios, the study employs bilinear interpolation for image dimension adjustment and introduces Salt-and-Pepper noise. Additionally, the model’s robustness was evaluated by varying image brightness levels by ±10%, ±20%, and ±30%. Experimental results demonstrate that AttCM-Alex significantly outperforms traditional models, particularly in scenarios involving fluctuating light conditions and noise interference. The model achieved a peak detection accuracy of 0.97 with a 30% increase in image brightness and maintained an accuracy of 0.93 even with a 30% decrease in brightness, highlighting its robustness and reliability. The findings affirm the AttCM-Alex model as a powerful tool for real-world agricultural applications, capable of enhancing disease detection systems’ accuracy and efficiency. This advancement not only supports better crop management practices but also contributes to sustainable agriculture and global food security.
Traffic management is a critical task in software-defined IoT networks (SDN-IoTs) to efficiently manage network resources and ensure Quality of Service (QoS) for end-users. However, traditional traffic management approaches based on queuing theory or static policies may not be effective due to the dynamic and unpredictable nature of network traffic. In this paper, we propose a novel approach that leverages Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) and multi-arm bandit algorithms to dynamically optimize traffic management policies based on real-time network traffic patterns. Specifically, our approach uses a GNN model to learn and predict network traffic patterns and a multi-arm bandit algorithm to optimize traffic management policies based on these predictions. We evaluate the proposed approach on three different datasets, including a simulated corporate network (KDD Cup 1999), a collection of network traffic traces (CAIDA), and a simulated network environment with both normal and malicious traffic (NSL-KDD). The results demonstrate that our approach outperforms other state-of-the-art traffic management methods, achieving higher throughput, lower packet loss, and lower delay, while effectively detecting anomalous traffic patterns. The proposed approach offers a promising solution to traffic management in SDNs, enabling efficient resource management and QoS assurance.

Purpose: In this age of digitalization, organizations are generating large data from the organizations' manufacturing processes that are valuable for capturing a competitive edge. Chinese small and medium enterprises (SMEs) can bring organizations radical innovation by investing in innovation projects (i.e. big data use; BDU) using the SMEs' scarce resources. Thus, the authors' research aims to predict Chinese SMEs' radical innovation (RI) through BDU using the theoretical lenses of the resource-based view. Moreover, the authors' study also pursues to realize the undermining mediating process of business strategy alignment (BSA) and the buffering role of information sharing in BDU–RI linkage.Design/methodology/approach: In total, 297 Chinese SMEs entrepreneurs and managers were recruited from the Yangtze River Economic Belt, China using a survey approach. In Mplus 7.4, the authors tested the proposed hypotheses.Findings: The sample of 297 shows that BDU is directly and indirectly (via BSA) related to RI. Further, information sharing moderates the linkage between BDU and BSA and BSA and RI. The association between BSA and RI is only significant and stronger when information sharing is high.Practical implications: This research is beneficial for SME entrepreneurs/managers to enhance the understanding of BDU, eliminate challenges of BSA via BDU and align business strategies to bring RI to Chinese SMEs.Originality/value: SMEs always search for new ways to enhance SMEs' productivity using scarce resources. This is the first research that advances big data and innovation literature by predicting firm RI through BDU using a resource-based view. Moreover, this study is novel because the study investigates the mediation role of BSA and the moderating role of information sharing in the linkage between BDU and firm RI in Chinese SMEs.
