Prof. Hung-Liang Cheng received BS, MS, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering from the National Sun Yat-Sen University, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, in 1986, 1988, and 2001, respectively. From 1988 to 2007, he was an Electronic Researcher with the Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, Taoyuan, Taiwan, where he designed and developed high-power transmitters in radar and missile systems. Since February 2007, he has been with I-Shou University, Kaohsiung, where he is currently a Professor with the Department of Electrical Engineering, Kaohsiung. His research interests include power-electronic converters and electronic ballasts/drivers for lighting applications.
