Luca Saccone, MD
Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology
San Pietro Fatebenefratelli Hospital
My medical journey began at the Campus Bio-Medico University of Rome, where I earned a Master's Degree in Medicine and Surgery in 2018 with a score of 110/110, graduating with honors for my thesis on stem cell therapy for osteoarthritis. During my studies, I developed a strong interest in sports traumatology and spent four years working in the Orthopedics and Traumatology department. In 2019, I embarked on my residency program in Orthopedics and Traumatology at the Fondazione Policlinico Universitario Campus Bio-Medico in Rome, a renowned center for prosthetic and arthroscopic orthopedic surgery. Here, I honed my skills in knee, shoulder, and hip surgery, mastering both basic and advanced techniques. From October to December 2021, I further expanded my expertise at the Prosthetic Surgery Center of the Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute in Milan, gaining proficiency in unicompartmental, bicompartmental, and tricompartmental knee and total hip prosthetic replacements. Since April 2022, I have been working at the Complex Operational Unit of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the San Pietro Fatebenefratelli Hospital in Rome, where I continue to delve into my passions for regenerative therapy and arthroscopic and minimally invasive replacement surgery of the knee, shoulder, and hip.
