The correlation filters (CF) have been extensively used in object tracking due to its robustness and attractive computational speed. However, the CF are more sensitive to object deformation because they are trained using the spatial features. Besides, updating the filter template with slightly drifted or occluded samples increase the probability of tracking failure. In contrast, the median flow tracker is complementary to the correlation techniques and is fast, robust to occlusion and deformation, but sensitive to illumination variation. In this paper, we exploit the advantage of correlation and optical flow based trackers to achieve drift free tracking. Hence, we apply the CF-based tracker to track an object and switch to the modified median flow tracker during the drift conditions. The combined model is optimized to cope up with the fast appearance change and recover from drifting. We also propose an adaptive feature selection process to select the most discriminative feature/features among colour name and histogram of oriented gradient features based on object separation from the background in intensity and colour channels. The proposed tracker updates the filter template dynamically, depending on the appearance of an object using an adaptive learning rate to track the object irrespective of occlusion, motion blur, and deformation. The scale of object is estimated using Lucas-Kanade homography method. The experiments are carried out using challenging video sequences from a standard object tracking benchmark dataset and show the best performance among the state-of-the-art techniques.

Smartphones have become quite pervasive in various aspects of our daily lives. They have become important links to a host of important data and applications, which if compromised, can lead to disastrous results. Due to this, today's smartphones are equipped with multiple layers of authentication modules. However, there still lies the need for a viable and unobtrusive layer of security which can perform the task of user authentication using resources which are cost-efficient and widely available on smartphones. In this work, we propose a method to recognize users using data from a phone's embedded accelerometer sensors. Features encapsulating information from both time and frequency domains are extracted from walking data samples, and are used to build a Random Forest ensemble classification model. Based on the experimental results, the resultant model delivers an accuracy of 0.9679 and Area under Curve (AUC) of 0.9822.
Supervised learning in machine learning (ML) requires labelled data set. Further real-time data classification requires an easily available methodology for labelling. Wireless modulation and signal classification find their application in plenty of areas such as military, commercial and electronic reconaissance and cognitive radio. This paper mainly aims to solve the problem of real-time wireless modulation and signal class labelling with an active learning framework. Further modulation and signal classification is performed with machine learning algorithms such as KNN, SVM, Naive bayes. Active learning helps in labelling the data points belonging to different classes with the least amount of data samples trained. An accuracy of 86 percent is obtained by the active learning algorithm for the signal with SNR 18 dB. Further, KNN based model for modulation and signal classification performs well over range of SNR, and an accuracy of 99.8 percent is obtained for 18 dB signal. The novelty of this work exists in applying active learning for wireless modulation and signal class labelling. Both modulation and signal classes are labelled at a given time with help of couplet formation from the data samples.
