Dr. Antonio Natale received B.S. and M.S. degrees (both cum laude) in telecommunication engineering and a Ph.D. degree in electronic and telecommunication engineering from the University of Naples Federico II, Naples, in 2005, 2008 and 2012, respectively. In 2011, he was a Visiting Scientist with the Surrey Space Centre, University of Surrey, Surrey, U.K. During that period, he was also the Principal Researcher for the project “Applications for S-band SAR”, which was funded by EADS Astrium Ltd. Since April 2012, he has been with the Institute for Electromagnetic Sensing of the Environment, Italian National Research Council, Naples. In 2013, he spent a period at the NATO Centre for Maritime Research and Experimentation, La Spezia, Italy, as a Visiting Scientist to develop target detection and tracking strategies using high-resolution radar data. Dr. Natale received the 2009 IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing South Italy Chapter Prize for the best Italian thesis in remote sensing discussed in 2008. Moreover, he was the recipient of the 2009 S.A. Schelkunoff Transactions Prize Paper Award from the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society for the best paper published in 2008 in IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation.
