Prof. Dr. Donghwan Shim is a Professor at the Department of Biological Sciences, Chungnam National
University, Daejeon, Republic of Korea. He earned his Ph.D. at the Pohang University of Science and Technology in 2010. From 2015 to 2020, he worked as a Senior Researcher at the National Institute of Forest Science (NIFoS). In 2023, he was promoted to Team Leader of the Center for Genome Engineering. His research interests primarily focus on fruiting bodies, agaricomycetes, monochamus alternatus, bioinformatics and computational biology genomics, next-generation sequencing, computational biology, gene expression, and transcriptomics.
