The global spread and use of the internet and mobile phones has contributed to the development of digital payments. Despite its growth potential, until now there is a lack of research providing a comprehensive synthesis and analysis of factors affecting the use, adoption, and acceptance of digital payment methods. This study aims to address this gap by providing a comprehensive review of the related literature retrieved from Scopus and Web of Science databases. Following a systematic method, a final sample of 193 research articles was identified and analysed. The results highlight that a single theory has failed to comprehensively explain the complex nature of electronic payment adoption. The key limitation of the existing theories is their inability to consider the role of social and cultural facets in the adoption of new technology. While literature reviews are a widespread practice in business studies, there are scant reviews that use the systematic review methodology that aggregates knowledge using clearly defined processes and criteria. This is the first systematic review on electronic payment adoption, which structures the existing knowledge and provides directions for future research.

The aim of this study is to synthesize the rapidly increasing literature on privacy and security risk of digital payment. By reviewing 591 studies, the literature on this topic was evaluated using a bibliographical approach to highlight the intellectual development of the field and recommend potential research directions in this still-emerging field. According to our assessment, academics have continued to focus on perceived privacy and security, while more multigroup analyses based on subdimensions of risk are needed. In addition, the vast majority of studies have not considered the inter-relationship between risk attributes. We analyse the potential causes of the lack of research diversity and provide additional suggestions to improve digital payment research in the future. This study will be valuable for academics, analysts, regulators, practitioners, and investors.

The objective of this study is to examine and synthesize the existing literature on financial disclosure by financial institutions. It presents a systematic literature review of 204 studies on this topic published from 1990 to 2022. The studies were retrieved from Scopus database. In addition, this review highlights the gaps in current literature including contradictory results, explores the potential data sources for empirical researchers, and offers guidance for investigating prospective areas for future studies. The study found monitoring attributes to be the key determinants of financial reporting quality. Yet, the existing literature concentrated on internal/external auditing and audit committee characteristics whilst giving limited attention to the functions of other monitoring mechanisms, i.e., board of directors. Furthermore, there is no clear evidence that efficient financial disclosure could boost the performance and evaluation of firms as well as whether these consequences are influenced by differences in the institutional and protection environment between markets. The contribution of this study resides in the application of systematic literature review to a burgeoning study topic, enabling an examination of the state-of-the-art financial reporting in financial institutions, an area that has received little attention in the literature. Based on the content investigation of the literature, future paths and implications are also presented.

Based on the social exchange theory, the current study aimed to develop and test a conceptual model that integrates the relationships among internal marketing dimensions (i.e., supportive and participative leadership, training and development, information and communication, and selection and appointment) and job satisfaction in the banking sector of Saudi Arabia, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. We collected data from 329 employees working in different private and public banks in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Overall, the findings confirmed the significant and positive effects of supportive and participative leadership, training and development, information and communication, and selection and appointment on employees’ job satisfaction. The current research contributes to the understanding of the broad role played by internal marketing practices in maintaining the job satisfaction of banking sector employees, during and possibly after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Despite the growth of empirical evidence in this field, little review research exists that assesses the theoretical aspects, marketing drivers, and consequences of market mavens. In this study, therefore, a systematic literature review (SLR) was utilized to perform a thorough analysis of market maven literature, encompassing articles published over 23 years on the Scopus and Web of Science indexed journals. It was found that the social and psychological aspects had not been widely explored and remained the weakest pillar. The results highlight that the theory of planned behavior has been the most commonly applied theory in the literature, as it has been used in six studies. Moreover, there is a very limited understanding of the existing literature's psychological and motivational characteristics and their role in cyber-market mavenism. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first SLR that addresses market maven literature. This research offers a comprehensive study agenda that focuses on various critical areas that need more consideration, such as the cultural role of market mavens and the differentiation between the roles of market mavens and non-mavens in sharing information on social network sites. Scholars might also look at the influence of the generational difference between people and whether or not placing an age or gender limit on people is important in terms of the nature of social networks. The purpose of this study is to examine the determinants affecting Iraqi customers intentions to use of digital banking services based on the Extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). Given that digital banking is a new concept in Iraq, understanding the key drivers behind its adoption is essential for the industry. This paper evaluates the impact of some variables, such as attitude, social pressure, and perceived behavioral control, trust, and perception value, on shaping customer adoption intention. The study used PLS-SEM with SmartPLS to interpret the data from a survey of 334 customers from Rafidain Bank, Rasheed Bank, and Trade Bank of Iraq selected using convenience sampling . Perceived value had the strongest effect on adoption intentions, followed by trust, social influence, and attitude. Perceived behavioral control did not have a significant effect on the intention to utilize digital banking services among consumers. These findings highlight the need to improve the perceived value and trust of digital banking platforms, as well as stimulate social influence to foster adoption. The minimal impact of perceived behavioral control showed that infrastructural hurdles and low digital literacy might also backburn individual confidence in using digital banking. In conclusion, this study significantly provides implications for Iraqi policymakers and the banking sector. This shifts the digital banking adoption efforts towards what banks will focus on developing an integrated system that is required for a radical transformation of financial systems within Iraq to allow more people to be banked by emphasizing boosting apparent value, trust-building, and social validation.
