With the development of deep learning techniques in the field of remote sensing change detection, many change detection algorithms based on convolutional neural networks (CNNs) and nonlocal self-attention (NLSA) mechanisms have been widely used and have obtained good detection accuracy. However, these methods mainly extract semantic features on images from different periods without taking into account the temporal dependence between these features. This will lead to more “pseudo-change” in complex scenes. In this paper, we propose a network architecture named UVACD for bitemporal image change detection. The network combines a CNNs extraction backbone for extracting high-level semantic information with a visual transformer. Here, visual transformer constructs change intensity tokens to complete the temporal information interaction and suppress irrelevant information weights to help extract more distinguishable change features. Our network is validated and tested on both the LEVIR-CD and WHU datasets. For the LEVIR-CD dataset, we achieve an intersection over union (IoU) of 0.8398 and an F1 score of 0.9130. For the WHU dataset, we achieve an IoU of 0.8664 and an F1 score of 0.9284. The experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms some previous state of the art change detection methods.

Phase unwrapping (PU) represents a key step in the reconstruction of digital elevation models (DEMs) and the monitoring of surface deformation from interferometric synthetic aperture radar (InSAR) data. Compared with single-baseline (SB) PU, multi-baseline (MB) PU can resolve the phase discontinuities caused by noise and phase layover induced by terrain undulations. However, the MB PU performance is limited primarily by its poor robustness to measurement bias and noise. To address this problem, we propose a refined 2-D MB PU method based on the two-stage programming approach (TSPA). The proposed method uses the unscented Kalman filter (UKF) to improve the performance of the second stage of the original TSPA method. Specifically, the proposed method maintains the first stage of the TSPA to estimate the range and azimuth gradients between neighbouring pixels. Then, median filtering is slightly used to reduce the effects of the noise gradients on the estimated phase gradients. Finally, the UKF model is used to unwrap the interferometric phases using an efficient quality-guided strategy based on heap-sort. This paper is the first to integrate the UKF into the TSPA framework. The proposed method is validated using bistatic and monostatic MB InSAR datasets, and the experimental results show that the proposed method is effective for MB PU problems.

Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) carrier phase measurement for short baseline meets the requirements of deformation monitoring of large structures. However, the carrier phase multipath effect is the main error source with double difference (DD) processing. There are lots of methods to deal with the multipath errors of Global Position System (GPS) carrier phase data. The BeiDou navigation satellite System (BDS) multipath mitigation is still a research hotspot because the unique constellation design of BDS makes it different to mitigate multipath effects compared to GPS. Multipath error periodically repeats for its strong correlation to geometry of satellites, reflective surface and antenna which is also repetitive. We analyzed the characteristics of orbital periods of BDS satellites which are consistent with multipath repeat periods of corresponding satellites. The results show that the orbital periods and multipath periods for BDS geostationary earth orbit (GEO) and inclined geosynchronous orbit (IGSO) satellites are about one day but the periods of MEO satellites are about seven days. The Kalman filter (KF) and Rauch-Tung-Striebel Smoother (RTSS) was introduced to extract the multipath models from single difference (SD) residuals with traditional sidereal filter (SF). Wavelet filter and Empirical mode decomposition (EMD) were also used to mitigate multipath effects. The experimental results show that the three filters methods all have obvious effect on improvement of baseline accuracy and the performance of KT-RTSS method is slightly better than that of wavelet filter and EMD filter. The baseline vector accuracy on east, north and up (E, N, U) components with KF-RTSS method were improved by 62.8%, 63.6%, 62.5% on day of year 280 and 57.3%, 53.4%, 55.9% on day of year 281, respectively.

Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) tomography has developed into an efficient tool for sensing the high spatiotemporal variability of atmospheric water vapor. The integration of GNSS top signals and side rays for tropospheric tomography systems using a novel height factor model (HFM) is proposed and discussed in this paper. Within the HFM, the sectional slant wet delay (SWD) of inside signals (the part of the side signal inside the tomography area), which is considered a key factor for modeling side rays, is separated into isotropic and anisotropic components. Correspondingly, two height factors are defined to calculate the isotropic and anisotropic part of tropospheric delays in the HFM. In addition, the dynamic tomography top boundary is first analyzed and determined based on 30-year radiosonde data to reasonably divide signals into top and side rays. Four special experimental schemes based on different tomography regions of Hong Kong are performed to assess the proposed HFM method, the results of which show increases of 33.42% in the mean utilization of rays, as well as decreases of 0.46 g/m3 in the average root mean square error (RMSE), compared to the traditional approach, revealing the improvement of tomography solutions when the side signals are included in the modeling. Furthermore, compared with the existing correction model for modeling side rays, the water vapor profiles retrieved from the proposed improved model are closer to the radiosonde data, which highlights the advantages of the proposed HFM for optimizing the GNSS tomography model.
