The most aggressive form of brain tumor is gliomas, which leads to concise life when high grade. The early detection of glioma is important to save the life of patients. MRI is a commonly used approach for brain tumors evaluation. However, the massive amount of data provided by MRI prevents manual segmentation in a reasonable time, restricting the use of accurate quantitative measurements in clinical practice. An automatic and reliable method is required that can segment tumors accurately. To achieve end-to-end brain tumor segmentation, a hybrid deep learning model RMU-Net is proposed. The architecture of MobileNetV2 is modified by adding residual blocks to learn in-depth features. This modified Mobile Net V2 is used as an encoder in the proposed network, and upsampling layers of U-Net are used as the decoder part. The proposed model has been validated on BraTS 2020, BraTS 2019, and BraTS 2018 datasets. The RMU-Net achieved the dice coefficient scores for WT, TC, and ET of 91.35%, 88.13%, and 83.26% on the BraTS 2020 dataset, 91.76%, 91.23%, and 83.19% on the BraTS 2019 dataset, and 90.80%, 86.75%, and 79.36% on the BraTS 2018 dataset, respectively. The performance of the proposed method outperforms with less computational cost and time as compared to previous methods.

Mobile phone applications have been rapidly growing and emerging with the Internet of Things (IoT) applications in augmented reality, virtual reality, and ultra-clear video due to the development of mobile Internet services in the last three decades. These applications demand intensive computing to support data analysis, real-time video processing, and decision-making for optimizing the user experience. Mobile smart devices play a significant role in our daily life, and such an upward trend is continuous. Nevertheless, these devices suffer from limited resources such as CPU, memory, and energy. Computation offloading is a promising technique that can promote the lifetime and performance of smart devices by offloading local computation tasks to edge servers. In light of this situation, the strategy of computation offloading has been adopted to solve this problem. In this paper, we propose a computation offloading strategy under a scenario of multi-user and multi-mobile edge servers that considers the performance of intelligent devices and server resources. The strategy contains three main stages. In the offloading decision-making stage, the basis of offloading decision-making is put forward by considering the factors of computing task size, computing requirement, computing capacity of server, and network bandwidth. In the server selection stage, the candidate servers are evaluated comprehensively by multi-objective decision-making, and the appropriate servers are selected for the computation offloading. In the task scheduling stage, a task scheduling model based on the improved auction algorithm has been proposed by considering the time requirement of the computing tasks and the computing performance of the mobile edge computing server. Extensive simulations have demonstrated that the proposed computation offloading strategy could effectively reduce service delay and the energy consumption of intelligent devices, and improve user experience.

Efficient identification of influential nodes is one of the essential aspects in the field of complex networks, which has excellent theoretical and practical significance in the real world. A valuable number of approaches have been developed and deployed in these areas where just a few have used centrality measures along with their concerning deficiencies and limitations in their studies. Therefore, to resolve these challenging issues, we propose a novel effective distance‐based centrality (EDBC) algorithm for the identification of influential nodes in concerning networks. EDBC algorithm comprises factors such as the power of K‐shell, degree nodes, effective distance, and numerous levels of neighbor’s influence or neighborhood potential. The performance of the proposed algorithm is evaluated on nine real‐world networks, where a susceptible infected recovered (SIR) epidemic model is employed to examine the spreading dynamics of each node. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the existing techniques such as eigenvector, betweenness, closeness centralities, hyperlink‐induced topic search, H‐index, K‐shell, page rank, profit leader, and gravity over a valuable margin.

Existing inflexible and ineffective traffic light control at a key intersection can often lead to traffic congestion due to the complexity of traffic dynamics, how to find the optimal traffic light timing strategy is a significant challenge. This paper proposes a traffic light timing optimization method based on double dueling deep Q-network, MaxPressure, and Self-organizing traffic lights (SOTL), namely EP-D3QN, which controls traffic flows by dynamically adjusting the duration of traffic lights in a cycle, whether the phase is switched based on the rules we set in advance and the pressure of the lane. In EP-D3QN, each intersection corresponds to an agent, and the road entering the intersection is divided into grids, each grid stores the speed and position of a car, thus forming the vehicle information matrix, and as the state of the agent. The action of the agent is a set of traffic light phase in a signal cycle, which has four values. The effective duration of the traffic lights is 0–60 s, and the traffic light phases switching depends on its press and the rules we set. The reward of the agent is the difference between the sum of the accumulated waiting time of all vehicles in two consecutive signal cycles. The SUMO is used to simulate two traffic scenarios. We selected two types of evaluation indicators and compared four methods to verify the effectiveness of EP-D3QN. The experimental results show that EP-D3QN has superior performance in light and heavy traffic flow scenarios, which can reduce the waiting time and travel time of vehicles, and improve the traffic efficiency of an intersection.
