The present work investigates the ablative and thermal properties of an epoxy resin which was modified with titanium dioxide nanoparticles having different size. Prepared samples were submitted to temperatures above 1900 °C and tested for their thermo-protective and ablative properties. The effect of epoxy composite components on thermo-protective and ablative properties: the maximum back side temperature, and the average weight loss under intensive heat flow conditions as well as temperature distribution on the ablation surface of the sample using a thermographic camera and a pyrometer have been established. A statistical analysis of the test results was made. It was confirmed that epoxy resin crosslinked with polyaminoamide hardener and modified with TiO2(21 nm) i TiO2(100 nm+1% Mn) showed improved thermo-protective properties in comparison with unmodified epoxy matrix.

In recent years, plastic and metal 3D printing has experienced massive development in the professional and hobby spheres, especially for rapid prototyping, reverse engineering, maintenance and quick repairs. However, this technology is limited by a number of factors, with the most common being the cost and availability of the technology but also the lack of information on material properties. This study focuses on investigating the material properties of PLA, PETG, HIPS, PA, ABS and ASA in order to elucidate their behavior in terms of wear and thermal resistance. The research builds on previous studies focusing on the mechanical properties of these materials and includes wear testing and DMA analysis. Weight loss, frictional forces, and frictional work including relative frictional work are recorded as part of this testing. The storage modulus and loss modulus including tan(δ) were then measured using DMA.

Conveyors play a very important role in modern manufacturing processes, and one of the most popular types is the belt conveyor. The main elements of a conveyor include a conveyor belt, roller sets, a supporting frame and a drive and control system. The reliable operation of the conveyor depends on the strength and durability of individual elements (especially the belt). Conveyor belts are made from various materials and have received a lot of attention in the scientific and research community. This article presents tests of the strength of the rubber belt material and its damage under load. The belt consists of two internal layers covered with a PVC coating on the outside, and the nominal belt thickness was 2 mm. In the experiment, various configurations of longitudinal and transverse damage were verified, and statistical methods were used to analyze the results. The obtained test results provided a new understanding of the propagation of conveyor belt damage and helped to improve the strain gauge-based monitoring system.

Test results are presented of composites used in self-lubricating sliding pairs where resol phenol-formaldehyde (AW-1, FDP), novolak phenol-formaldehyde, and anthracene-phenol resins are applied as binders. Thermal resistance, load capacity, friction resistances, wear values, and formation of top...

This work presents the results of investigations into the thermal, dynamic mechanical, and tribological propertiesof epoxy resin reinforced with titanium dioxide nanoparticles and organically modified montmorillonite invarying proportions. Additionally, reinforcement of an aramid honeycomb core was used to compare theproperties of samples with and without the honeycomb structure. A modified T-07 tester was employed toassess the wear resistance of materials and metal coatings during rubbing with loose abrasive. Thermodynamictests were performed using the three-point bending mode on an Instrument DMA SDTA861 thermal analyzerin the temperature range from 20C to 140C. It was found that at an operating temperature of around 57C,the lowest stiffness was observed in the sample without an aramid core and with 2 vol.% particulate filler inthe composite. Tribological tests determined the wear resistance, with composites containing montmorilloniteexhibiting the highest wear rates, while the sample with the highest proportion of TiO2 nanoparticles was themost wear-resistant. Notably, the wear rate decreased further when the friction area was along the walls of thearamid honeycomb core.

The beauty studio is a place of work where a beautician and her customers spend several hours, hence, it has to meet certain basic hygiene requirements so as to provide employees and customers conditions that keep them safe and healthy. The main dangers to which beauticians are exposed, are of physical, chemical, biological and psychophysical nature. Therefore, it is important to draw employees’ attention to the possible effects of the particular dangers and risks that come about when there is lack of the use of appropriate preventive measures.
