Christian-Alexander Bunge was after his study and PhD with the Polymer Optical Fiber Application Center (POF-AC), Nuremberg, Germany, where he was the Technical Director and responsible for fibre modelling and short-haul systems design. In 2004, he was with TU Berlin as a Senior Scientist. In 2009, he became a Professor for optical communication and measurement techniques with Deutsche Telekom’s University for Telecommunication, Leipzig, Germany. In January 2020, Prof Bunge started the chair for optical communication systems at Leipzig's Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und Kultur (HTWK). He has authored and coauthored more than 50 scientific articles, well more than 100 conference contributions, and a dozen patents. He also wrote several text books on optical transmission systems and polymer optical fibers.
