He obtained a teaching degree in mathematics, physics, and informatics at the legal predecessor of the University of Debrecen (Kossuth Lajos University). His doctoral topic was the formal verification of cryptographic protocols using mathematical logic tools. He deals with biological and economic statistical analyses and modeling, as well as general scientific research methodology. His narrower field of interest is Rough Set Theory and the theory of multisets. He is currently head of the Institute of Health Sciences and the Department of Health Informatics at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Debrecen.
