The rapid development of Information Technologies in Architecture, Engineering and Construction Industry (AEC), as well as in Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Owner/Operator (AECO), are consistently changing the definition of Building Information Modeling (BIM). BIM technology takes new meanings, highlighting the generic concepts of this universal determination for product deliverables build on usage of building intellectual 3D virtual model associated with this processes like project inception, design, evaluation, construction, operation and demolition. In his article, the authors review the stages and trends of BIM concept development presenting the case studies of four real projects in which elements of BIM technology have been adopted by project participants reviewing benefits as well as obstacles and problems of practical BIM implementation providing recommendations for future applications of BIM
The quantitative multiple criteria decision making methods are practical to use in decision support systems. In this paper we analyse the quantitative multiple criteria decision making methods and sensitivity analysis methods usage in decision support systems. Both species of these methods are strongly mathematically based. We take notice of these sensitivity methods for initial data. Monte Carlo method is applied for the generation of initial data. The sensitivity analysis of methods TOPSIS and SAW is presented in this paper
The aim of this article is to enhance the understanding of how design companies perceive the benefits of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies application. BIM is recognized in the literature as a (potentially) powerful driver leading the construction sector towards sustainability. However, for design companies, the choice to invest in BIM technologies is basically an economic one. Specifically, a design company assesses economic benefits and efficiency improvements thanks to the application of BIM technologies. The article discusses the return on investments (ROI) in BIM technologies and reviews ROI calculation methodologies proposed by other authors. In order to evaluate BIM return on investment correctly practical ROI calculations are carried out. Appropriate methods, together with the relevant variables for ROI calculation, are developed. The study allows for adjusting the calculation method making it more accurate and understandable using the Autodesk Revit based ROI calculation of the first year.

In project development it is hardly possible to get exhaustive and accurate information. As a result, the situations occur, the consequences of which can be very damaging to the project. Inaccurate evaluation of the strategy related to capital investment and project implementation is one of the reasons why such estimates are not required in practice. Instead, a classification approaches may be used for this purpose. The decision‐making process, based on the established risk assessment principles expressed in linguistic terms, requires qualitative judgement and experiential knowledge of the construction experts. Presented structured and realistic methods deals systematically with different risk management situations and assist the investors in reaching the correct risk assessment of possible alternatives will be of great value. This paper presents a methods of multiattribute comparativite analysis (CLARA and SAW methods) of variants of investment classified risks in construction. A practical case to illustrate how the methods works is presented.

One of the most difficult problems in construction is taking objective decisions. A decision-making process is very complicated and time consuming (due to the complex nature of construction projects). Many experts with extensive knowledge of construction industry take subjective decisions related to verbal methods of decision-making. Difficulties are related mostly to the creation of a set of relevant criteria, providing answers to the decision-maker’s questions. A set of proper criteria and mathematical tools (such as computer calculation algorithms with multi-criteria analysis) could significantly improve objective decision-making. The paper presents ESORD – an informatics tool allowing to establish a hierarchy (ranking) of different types of solutions on the basis of mathematical calculation. The authors present a comparison of different methods used for multi-criteria decision-making.
