Dr. Tapani Tuomi works for the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH) since august 1997. Prior to FIOH, Dr. Tuomi worked for the Helsinki University of Technology (1991-1997) and Neste Oil Ltd (1987-1990). The research interest of Dr. Tuomi have dealt with the analysis, monitoring or management of chemical exposure in workplaces. Research subjects have included management of exposure in the use of biological biocides, exposure estimation to mycotoxins and volatile organic compounds in indoor environments, exposure management of environmental tobacco smoke in workplaces, exposure management of volatile organic compounds in industrial environments, and management of quartz exposure in industrial environments, including the construction industry. He has published 35 original research publications dealing with subjects from either occupational hygiene and/or environmental chemistry.
