Many factors, such as population growth in the world, the need for different agricultural products, the lack of sufficient agricultural products, and export potential, create a large amount of lignocellulosic waste every year as a result of agricultural harvest. Cultivating edible mushrooms, which is one of the important areas of the agricultural sector, is a simple, environmentally friendly and biological process carried out without any chemical treatment using lignocellulosic wastes. They are cultured on various local agro-residues and are an important food source with delicious, nutritious, and medicinal values. The present research aimed to evaluate some local agro-wastes for P. djamor “love mushroom-pink oyster mushroom” culture and determine their effects on nutritional properties. Three different compost groups were created: wheat straw (WS), quinoa stalk (QS), and their mixture in a 1:1 ratio. While no significant difference was observed in about spawn colonization days on various agro-residues (p<0.05), it was observed that the best culture medium was quinoa stalk (QS) regarding the primordia formation period (20.3 days), total harvest period (50.0 days), and yield (23.5 g/100 g). Dry P. djamor contains about 89.9–91.4% dry matter, 8.6–10.1% moisture, 250.8–277.5 kcal energy, 22.0–41.2% crude protein, 1.1–1.7% fat, 5.8–9.6% ash, 82.0–84.1% organic matter, and 20.3–38.2% nitrogen-free extract. Protein, carbohydrate, ash, and energy contents differed significantly, with the highest protein content obtained in WS-QS (1:1) (41.2%). Vitamin levels (A, E, C, and MDA) may vary, but the best compost medium for element content is QS. Ni, Cr, Co, and Cd concentrations were also detected below standards. P. djamor is an important nutrient that can be used in a balanced diet, as it contains significant amounts of protein, vitamins, and various nutritional minerals, as well as low fat and energy content. Considering all these features, this species may become a helpful food source in nutrition.

Central Asia harbors a rich yet understudied assemblage of wood‐inhabiting Hymenochaetoid fungi. This review delivers the first comprehensive synthesis of 43 poroid species representing 18 genera documented across montane forests, steppes, and xeric habitats. Drawing on literature from 1977 to August 2025, we evaluate their taxonomic diversity, secondary metabolites, and pharmacological activities. Key metabolite classes include polysaccharides (notably β ‐glucans), lanostane‐type triterpenoids, phenolic acids, styrylpyrone derivatives, sterols, and sesquiterpenoids. These compounds display a broad spectrum of bioactivities, including antioxidant, antimicrobial, anticancer, immunomodulatory, anti‐inflammatory, hepatoprotective, and hypoglycemic effects. While globally recognized taxa such as Inonotus obliquus and Phellinus igniarius are well studied, most Central Asian endemics remain poorly characterized, highlighting a substantial untapped reservoir of therapeutic potential. Key challenges include unresolved taxonomy, nonstandardized metabolomic methodologies, limited mechanistic pharmacology, and insufficient ethnomycological and conservation data. To address these gaps, we propose a roadmap integrating multilocus phylogenomics, harmonized metabolomic workflows (LC‐MS/MS, GC–MS, NMR), and targeted in vitro, in vivo, and in silico pharmacological studies, supported by community‐based ethnomycological surveys and IUCN‐aligned conservation strategies. Future progress will require coupling these approaches with advanced omics technologies and AI‐enabled drug discovery to accelerate the translation of fungal metabolites into clinical candidates and nutraceuticals. At the same time, climate‐responsive conservation frameworks are urgently needed to safeguard this unique fungal reservoir. By linking biodiversity with translational pharmacology, this review positions Central Asian Hymenochaetoid fungi as a promising frontier for global natural product discovery and sustainable biotechnological innovation.

Alchemilla genus, which belongs to the Rosaceae family, is a medicinal plant used for various purposes among the people. Species of this genus are known in Turkish folk medicine as lion claw or hazelnut grass. Especially, they are used mainly women’s illnesses, in gastritis, anti-inflammatory, as carminative, and in the treatment of wound. Besides the antimutagenic effect of Alchemilla alpina L., its above-ground parts are used for antimycotic purposes in the form of tea or oral care water. In this study, it has been aimed to determine the antimicrobial effect of the above-ground parts of Alchemilla alpina extracts obtained from methanol, ethanol and chloroform and the antioxidant activity of different concentrations of the extract obtained from methanol. The antimicrobial activity of methanol, ethanol and chloroform extracts of the above-ground parts of A. alpina has been determined according to disk disc diffusion method. In the results obtained have been showed that these extracts inhibited the growth of some bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus ATCC25923, Escherichia coli ATCC25322, Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC700603, Bacillus megaterium DSM32) and yeasts (Candida albicans FMC17 and Candida glabrata ATCC66032) at different rates (8-23 mm). The antioxidant activity of different concentrations (1.25, 2.5, 5 and 10 mg/ml) of the above-ground parts of A. alpina extract obtained from methanol has been determined according to the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging capacity method. In the results obtained, it has been observed that the effect of removing DPPH radical of A. alpina increased depending on increasing concentrations.
