Roque J. Saltarén Pazmiño received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Universidad del Valle in Cali, Colombia in 1980, an M.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from the Universidad de los Andes in Bogota, Colombia in 1990 and a Ph.D. in industrial engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in Madrid, Spain in 1996. Currently, he is an associate professor and research scientist coordinator for the Group of Robots and Intelligent Machines at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingenieros Industriales.
