This paper presents an evaluation of a three-dimensional (3D) semi-immersive Virtual Reality (VR) system for online luxury product visualization and customization service. The paper’s objective is to present the results of the survey-based analysis using Technology Acceptance Model with ease ofuse, usefulness, perceived experience value and perceived presence as independent variables, in testing the attitudes towards the system. The impact of product customization and personalization features on the perceived experience value and the attitudes towards the system were also tested. The result shows that the perceived presence, usefulness, ease of use and the perceived experience value have a significant positive effect on the attitudes towards the 3D VR semiimmersive system. The result also revealed that utilizing the advantage of 3D VR systems with regards to real-time manipulation of the product and the flexibility in customizing the 3D models’ features in real time has elevated the attitudes towards the aforementioned emerging technology within this specific context.

The plurality of current infotainment devices within the in-vehicle space produces an unprecedented volume of incoming data that overwhelm the typical driver, leading to higher collision probability. This work presents an investigation to an alternative option which aims to manage the incoming information while offering an uncluttered and timely manner of presenting and interacting with the incoming data safely. The latter is achieved through the use of an augmented reality (AR) head-up display (HUD) system, which projects the information within the driver’s field of view. An uncluttered gesture recognition interface provides the interaction with the AR visuals. For the assessment of the system’s effectiveness, we developed a full-scale virtual reality driving simulator which immerses the drivers in challenging, collision-prone, scenarios. The scenarios unfold within a digital twin model of the surrounding motorways of the city of Glasgow. The proposed system was evaluated in contrast to a typical head-down display (HDD) interface system by 30 users, showing promising results that are discussed in detail.
This paper presents a preliminary investigation of the attitudes of regular donors towards an e-crowdfunding donation platform in Saudi Arabia (SA). It aims to understand potential users’ intentions to design a successful technology-based user experience. With e-crowdfunding being a relatively new concept in SA and limited scholarly research available, this study develops a model that examines the influence of attitudes towards charitable organizations and online payment systems on donor attitudes towards e-philanthropy crowdfunding platforms. Factors determining each construct were identified. The methodology employed Pearson correlation and linear regression analyses to test the relationships between these constructs. Findings reveal that both independent variables (attitudes towards charitable organizations and online payment systems) significantly influence donor attitudes towards e-philanthropy crowdfunding platforms, with sufficient validity observed in most of the scale questions. The study provides valuable insights into the elements influencing donor intentions, offering practical implications for designing effective e-philanthropy platforms in SA and improving user engagement. The study contributes to the limited research on e-crowdfunding in SA and its potential in the region’s charitable sector.
The menstrual cycle is a pivotal step in a girl’s life. Experiencing changes attributed to menstruation can be challenging, and these challenges include adapting to the physiological, emotional, and environmental shifts. Society, more specifically parents, play a role in young females’ education and experiences, and perceptions of the menstrual cycle. The following study aims to explore the role of parents in adolescent girls’ menstrual cycle education. The first section, which is the literature review, interpreted previous studies executed on adolescent menstrual cycle education and the role of parents in it. Secondly, the methodology, devised two different questionnaires, one for parents and the other for daughters, gathering a total of 107 responses, in addition to visual research to explore past successful visual communication solutions published on the topic. Then, findings and analysis revealed a discrepancy in satisfaction levels between parents and adolescent daughters relating to menstrual cycle education. Findings from the surveys disclosed conflict in communication about menstruation, particularly from the daughters’ side. These findings were relative within a national context. Findings from primary and secondary research led to the development of a technological visual solution in the form of a mobile application prototype targeted towards facilitating communication between menstruating adolescent females and mothers, accompanied by a 2D animation video to promote the application.
