Carlos Henggeler Antunes received a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering (Optimization and Systems Theory) from the University of Coimbra, Portugal, in 1992. He is a full Professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Coimbra, and the Director of the Institute for Systems Engineering and Computers (INESC) at Coimbra. His research interests include multiobjective optimization, metaheuristics, and energy planning with a focus on demand response. He is co-author of the book “Multiobjective Linear and Integer Programming” (Springer, 2016) and co-editor of the book “Energy and Behaviors” (Academic Press, 2019). He is senior editor of Energy Policy and editor of the EURO Journal on Decision Processes. He has participated in more than forty R&D and consulting projects in the areas of energy systems and decision support.
