Xiao-yong Zhang is a Professor at Central South University, a Researcher at the State Key Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy, and a Visiting Scholar at the School of Metallurgy and Materials, University of Birmingham, UK. He received his PhD degree from Central South University in 2008. He is mainly engaged in the design and processing of titanium alloys, 3D printing, and high-performance powder metallurgy products. He has undertaken more than 10 projects in the above-mentioned fields, such as a National Natural Science Foundation of China project, Ministry of Education equipment pre-research, and a Hunan Provincial Science and Technology Major Project. He has published more than 80 articles and won first prize in Science and Technology Progress in Hunan Province in 2019 and first prize in Science and Technology Progress in the China Nonferrous Metals Industry in 2020. He currently serves as a member of the Youth Committee of the Chinese Materials Research Society, a member of the Special Committee on Bone Repair Materials and Devices of Hunan Bio-materials Society, and a member of the Special Committee of Hunan Provincial Engineering Research Center for Titanium Refining and Intensive Processing.
