This paper examines the adoption of mobile applications for restaurant searches and/or reservations (MARSR) by users, as part of their experiential quality. Following an extended and expanded version of UTAUT-2, this research proposes eight determinants of intentions to use: performance expectancy, effort expectancy, facilitating conditions, hedonic motivation, price-saving orientation, habit, social influence, and perceived credibility. The data were collected from Spanish users of MARSR applications (n = 1200), and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The findings confirm the need to extend and expand UTAUT-2 by incorporating perceived credibility and the social norm approach. The results gathered from SEM indicate that the drivers of intentions to use MARSR are, in order of impact: habit, perceived credibility, hedonic motivation, price-saving orientation, effort expectancy, performance expectancy, social influence, and facilitating conditions. Habit, facilitating conditions, and intentions to use are significantly related to use. Additionally, the moderating effects of gender, age, and experience were tested by means of a multi-group analysis. The users’ experience was seen to exert a moderating effect in some of the relationships hypothesized in the model, while gender and age did not play a significant role. The findings have both research and practical implications.

This study investigates the relationship of heritage building and employee displayed emotion with tourist emotions, satisfaction and behavioral intentions, and the moderator effect of knowledge of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Sites (WHS). A theoretical model was constructed which was tested with a total of 883 surveys. The questionnaires focus on the Basilica of the Holy Family—La Sagrada Família—in Barcelona (Catalonia, Spain). The study of the data used structural equation models by means of a multigroup analysis. The results suggest that heritage building and employee displayed emotions influence tourist emotions, tourist emotions influence satisfaction, and satisfaction influences behavioral intentions. Furthermore, a direct effect of heritage building on behavioral intentions has been identified. In addition, it has been proved that knowledge of UNESCO WHS moderates the linkages between constructs in most of the relationships in the sample analyzed.

This study develops an integrated model that examines how service quality, perceived experiences and enduring involvement determine tourists' behavior. The model proposes that enduring involvement has both a direct and moderating influence on tourists' satisfaction with the destination. Data were collected from 1091 visitors of two museums in Barcelona: the Picasso Museum and the Miró Foundation. The results suggest that visit experience, service quality and involvement are drivers of satisfaction. Satisfaction influences the behavioral intentions of visitors to the museum. In addition, the visitors' level of art involvement negatively moderates the influence of perceived quality and experience on tourists' satisfaction. Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
