Purpose. This study is a comparison of the effects of temporary restorative materials (PRMs) on the color change that occurs due to the use of different mouthwash solutions in two time periods. Material and Methods. One hundred fifty disc-shaped specimens (10 mm × 2 mm) were fabricated with three PRMs chemically polymerized PMMA (Imident-I), chemically polymerized bisacrylic composite resin (Acrytemp-A), and CAD/CAM PMMA-based polymer (TelioCAD-T) according to manufacturers’ instruction and using a CAD/CAM milling system (n = 10). CIE Lab values of specimens were recorded before immersion. Samples were immersed in solutions (Distilled water-DW, Kloroben-CHX, Listerine Advanced White-LAW, Listerine Total Care-TC, and Listerine Zero-TCZ) in two time periods (t1, t2). Color measurements of the samples were made with the help of a spectrophotometer before and after they were removed in mouthwashes (VITA Easyshade V). Results. According to the statistical analysis results, significant differences were observed between the results obtained in our study. The highest roughness values in ΔE1 were seen in A-LAW (1.83) and the lowest in T-DW (0.61). In ΔE2, the highest roughness values were observed in I-LAW (2.70), and the lowest in T-DW (1.05). ΔE values of all obtained groups were found within clinically acceptable limits (ΔE < 3.7). Conclusions. The content of temporary restorative materials, the production technique, the type of mouthwash, and the immersion time of the restoration affect the color stability. Mouthwash with a whitening effect caused the most discoloration. Among the temporary restorative materials, it was the CAD/CAM material that best preserved its color stability.

Aim: Parents increasingly turn to platforms like YouTube to find information about their infants' health. While health professionals are the primary source of such information, the accessibility of medical content on the internet and the demand for remote healthcare services during the COVID-19 pandemic have made medical YouTube videos popular. In the field of pediatric dentistry, YouTube offers valuable insights into topics like oral hygiene, early childhood caries, and fluoride use. This study aimed to assess the content and quality of YouTube videos on teething symptoms in infants, identified as a highly searched topic on Google Trends. Methods: Content analysis, DISCERN reliability scoring, and five-point Global Quality Scale (GQS) assessment were conducted on a sample of 46 videos. Results were categorized by uploader gender, video source category, and video quality. Statistical analyses, including Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney U tests, along with correlation analysis, were performed to identify differences between videos and groups. Results: Among the video uploaders, 80.60% (n=38) were female, and 17.40% (n=8) were male. No statistically significant difference based on gender was found among video uploaders (p>0.05). Most videos were uploaded by non-healthcare professionals, health institutions, workers, and other YouTube channels. Mean view counts, likes, dislikes, and comments were determined for the examined videos. The quality of videos was evaluated using Global Quality Scale and DISCERN ratings, resulting in categorization as weak, moderate, and high quality based on Global Quality Scale scores. Conclusion: This study revealed varying quality in YouTube videos on teething symptoms in infants, with non-healthcare professionals' videos demonstrating lower quality. Nonetheless, reliable videos from pediatric dental experts can serve as valuable resources for parents with limited access to healthcare facilities, particularly during situations like the pandemic. Further research and support are needed in this area.

Resin-bonded fixed dental prostheses (RBFDPs) are a commonly used precision treatment, such as fixed dental prosthesis (FDP) and implant-supported dentures. Full crown preparation of vital teeth, which is required for traditional FDPs, may result in a risk of pulp reaction as a large portion of the coronal tooth structure must be removed. RBFDP has been recognized as a non-invasive or minimally invasive treatment modality for the replacement of single missing teeth. RBFDPs require much less tooth preparation than conventional FDPs. These dental treatments are restorative solutions used to cover missing teeth and achieve an aesthetic smile. The biomechanical rules, aesthetics, polishability, and bond strength have been emphasized in RBFDP treatments. Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is one of the most widely used biomaterials in dentistry. The material, which stands out especially with its acceptable aesthetics, biocompatibility and modulus of elasticity close to dentin, has enabled it to be used in RBFDP treatments. Since PEEK is lighter than metal alloys, patients experience less discomfort and a feeling closer to natural teeth. Furthermore, the thermoplastic properties of PEEK are claimed to provide a precise fit, allowing the restoration to better integrate into the natural tooth structure. In addition, its ability to be customized using different modern manufacturing techniques is thought to offer dentists and patients a reliable option for successful long-term treatment. Our review is about the use of PEEK material as an alternative material in RBFDPs with low negative effects on periodontal tissues and their bonding with resins.
