This paper reports the result of an exploratory study conducted to assess (1) the achievement of learning outcomes (LOs) and (2) the perceived effectiveness of students’ learning from Industrial-Infused Project-Based Learning (II-PrBL). The experiment and evaluation were made on the Software Engineering (SE) students in second year who enrolled in the 977-271 Requirement Engineering and System Modeling (RESM) course, semester 1/2019. The result shows that the students were able to think, analyse, integrate and apply the knowledge and skills achieved from the lecture to the real practice in problem-solving based on the industrial case study. They were able to achieve the necessary LOs for the RE course in both specific (hard) and generic (soft) skills. Furthermore, this II-PrBL resulted in the high perceived effectiveness of students’ learning and the strong level of satisfactory teaching.
Sport tourism has experienced significant growth within the tourism industry, driven by the increasing demand of special interest tourists to watch or participate in sports events with local sightseeing. However, the massive volume of available information related to sport events may cause challenges to existing recommendation systems, which struggle to provide tailored suggestions for these niche tourists. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel, context-aware recommender framework that utilises the ontology-driven approach with unsupervised machine learning techniques to deliver personalised event matches for running tourists. Using an ontology-driven approach, the framework establishes a knowledge base of user profiles and running events. Furthermore, K-modes clustering was also applied to categorise participants based on their event participation characteristics, while the Apriori algorithm was used to uncover hidden relationships influencing event selection. To ensure the statistical integrity of the discovered association rule, permutation testing was implemented to mitigate bias inherent in small sample sizes. By integrating refined association rules with Jena rules, the resulting prototype offers adaptive, personalised, and contextually relevant running event recommendations that evolve with shifting user preferences and trends. The effectiveness of the prototype is confirmed through rigorous validation and evaluation across various sport tourism scenarios.
This paper presents an analytical evaluation of three strategies designed to minimize service disruption during handovers in Software-Defined Networking (SDN)-based connected car networks: SDN Mobility with a Caching Policy, cache-miss Content Delivery Network (CDN), and cache-hit CDN. The performance trade-offs inherent in each approach have been quantitatively compared, and their multi-faceted performances have been analyzed. The evaluation includes a range of Session-to-Mobility Ratios (SMR), sensitivities of core network latency and L2 handover delays, and a realistic assessment of CDN effectiveness as a function of its cache-hit ratio. Our analysis conclusively shows that the availability of content on the network edge is the key factor for ensuring seamless connectivity. The study also identifies a quantitative crossover point 70% cache-hit ratio, where the proactive CDN’s performance surpasses that of reactive Caching Policy, establishing a clear target for predictive algorithms. Results confirm that while the cache-hit strategy offers the lowest disruption, the high data plane latency of a cache-miss 100 ms delay makes it unsuitable for vehicular applications, and the Caching Policy is limited by a 30 ms control plane overhead. This paper provides a robust framework for future vehicular network designs that proactive edge-based architectures are critical for stringent connectivity requirements.
Software testing is essential for software engineering practices, as it ensures that the final software product is reliable and satisfies all requirements before delivery. However, manually designing black-box testing test cases is time-consuming, inconsistent, and difficult to maintain in accordance with changing specifications. Therefore, this paper presents BlackBoxTestGen, an automatic framework that unifies three specification-driven black-box testing techniques, including rule-based Equivalence Class Partitioning (ECP), syntax, and state transition testing. The framework utilises a redesigned XML structure for test case generation to be shared among a data dictionary, decision tree, and state machine, used by each testing technique. The degree of testing coverage is accumulatively calculated during the test case generation process. The beneficial value of our proposed framework was demonstrated with the development of a web-based prototype tool. We rigorously evaluated its performance in terms of accuracy, computational efficiency, and scalability through a multidimensional approach. This included assessment by professional experts, algorithmic stress testing via parameter scaling, and application to close-to-realistic case studies. The results indicate that BlackBoxTestGen provides a robust integration of testing techniques. By automating the generation of compact and reproducible test cases, the framework substantially reduces manual effort and minimises drift between techniques.
One of the challenges in managing mobility in a heterogeneous network domain remains a significant challenge in Software-Defined Networking (SDN). While SDN has effectively facilitated intra-domain mobility, inter-domain mobility has been a major issue, leading to service interruptions, packet loss, and unstable communication sessions. This article presents a new concept in mobility management: a hybrid SDN-LISP network that facilitates inter-domain communication by integrating SDN with the Locator/Identifier Separation Protocol (LISP). The main idea is to introduce a new event-based orchestration model that uses OpenFlow Packet-In messages to provide instantaneous updates to Endpoint Identifiers-to-Routing Locators (EID-to-RLOC) mappings, unlike traditional LISP, which relies on timers for updates. The proposed framework has been implemented and evaluated on a Mininet-WiFi testbed under various mobility conditions. The results obtained from the experimental evaluation reveal that packet loss is reduced by 92.32% when using the proposed framework over the conventional SDN Mobility approach. Although there is a slight increase in jitter overhead due to LISP encapsulation of 0.628 ms, the framework does not compromise Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) session continuity. In addition, the control plane synchronization time is also minimized to 277.5 ms. This reveals that the proposed framework is a stable mobility solution that does not depend on any conventional IP mobility solutions and can be used in future network environments requiring seamless inter-domain connectivity.

Social media platforms are now a very powerful tool for digital marketing strategy because it helps companies to be in direct contact with their customers. A communication problem in digital social media is several customer needs phrases posted on social media, making it difficult for businesses to find relevant posts and respond to customers immediately. Therefore, knowing and understanding the customer requirements for a product can help the product owner to propose the right product to the right customer. This study focuses on understanding customer needs in Thai and classifying them into certain concepts. This study aims to classify customer needs for products in online social media community groups. The model focuses on understanding Thai customer need phrases. We then use a bag of concepts representation, including pattern analysis that applies n-grams together with POS and synonym replacement, conceptual analysis, pattern matching, and class labeling that applies concept sets obtained from the FP-Growth algorithm and represents TD-IDF value in a bag of concepts. The effectiveness of the proposed model is evaluated on five classification algorithms, including Decision Tree, Support Vector Machine, Naí¯ve-Bayes, K-Nearest Neighbor, and RBF Neural Network. The results show that Decision Tree can yield higher accuracy and F-measure values than the others. As this study is an initial step of a personalized product recommendation system in the future, this study will apply the model to the remaining domains for future work.
