Alejandro Rodriguez-Sanchez obtained his M.S. in sciences and techniques of water quality and his Ph.D. in civil engineering at the University of Granada. During 2019–2022, he was a postdoctoral research assistant at the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture at Purdue University. He is now a postdoctoral researcher at the Water Institute, University of Granada. His research has been focused on the microbial communities in man-made environments, how they shape these environments and are shaped by them, and how to engineer microbial communities in man-made systems for the environmental protection of water resources and the development of agriculture.
