David Rodríguez Salgado obtained his Industrial Engineering degree in 1999 at the University of Extremadura. From 1999 to 2001, he worked as director of the Production Control Department of the multinational enterprise Cristian Lay. Since 2001, he has worked in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Extremadura as a Lecturer, Reader and Assistant Professor, and he became an Associate Professor in 2010. His current research interests include mechanical design, mechanical transmissions design, product design, monitoring of machining process, quality process, etc. He has published 28 papers indexed in Journals of Citation Reports (JCR), 25 papers in other international scientific indexes and more than 90 proceedings in national and international congresses. He has reviewed papers for several international journals in the areas of manufacturing and mechanical engineering, such as Mechanism and Machine Theory, Journal of Materials Processing Technology, The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, The Journal of Computing and Information Science in Engineering, The Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, Mechanical Systems and Signal Processing and Machining Science and Technology. He is the author of seven patents. He is the director of the Manufacturing Engineering Research Group of the University of Extremadura.
