This research focuses on teaching–learning behavior in the online environment under crisis conditions, such as those caused by COVID-19. Data were collected from 427 participants from Central and Eastern Europe and North and Central Asia. An integrative mixed method design was used, combining components of both qualitative and quantitative research. The research method used was the inquiry based on a semi-structured questionnaire, which combined closed items with open-ended and semi-structured interviews. The quantitative results revealed significant differences between professors and students regarding the self-reported adaptability level, creativity, need for help in online teaching–learning, and collaboration with colleagues for solving problems in the online teaching–learning medium. The opinions of professors do not differ from those of students regarding the advantages, disadvantages, vulnerable areas, and aspects of online education. Thematic analysis, used to analyze the qualitative data, emphasized the participants’ perceptions of online teaching–learning efficiency in crises. Based on the results, it was concluded that the aspects that need to become a priority in online education concern mainly the didactic quality of the learning experience.

Previous studies on handball players’ performance are focused more on influence of physical, physiological factors and tactical strategies and less on the influence of cognitive, metacognitive and attentional regulation strategies. Performance can be achieved by attentional and emotional regulation alongside cognitive, metacognitive and procedural regulation strategies. This study explores the association between self-regulation strategies, mindfulness practice and performance. The sample consists of 288 Romanian handball players. The participants were 30% male and 70% female, with age between 12.01 and 14 years old, divided in three categories. The quantitative research design is descriptive and transversal. The method was survey based on questionnaires. There were interesting results found in different age categories and different performance levels. The variables (state mindfulness of body, self-monitoring, and self-efficacy) explained 87% of the variance in sports performance, in a hierarchical multiple regression. The research findings indicated that handball players with a high level of acceptance of one’s own thoughts and emotions, non-judging present-moment awareness, conscious monitoring the execution of movements, and confidence in their abilities to succeed could have more chances to achieve the desired performance.

More and more in Romania it is felt the need to have well-trained teaching and administrative staff in order to transform schools, universities and libraries into inclusive environments. Often, not only the material base is missing (for example: access technologies), but a large part of staff also feels that they do not have the skills necessary to ensure effective communication with people with disabilities and their families. This research aims to investigate the training needs of teaching staff and librarians, both in schools and universities. This article uses a mixed methods research, combining a survey based on questionnaire with one-on-one interviews. At this research 85 respondents participated, 34 of whom were professors and 51 were librarians. A majority of respondents (95%) consider necessary to take part on courses for updating the knowledge and skills necessary for working with children / pupils / students with disabilities and their families. Also, the respondents point out the need for a team of specialists to mediate the relationships between professionals and people with special needs.

The main objective of this cross sectional study was to assess the psychometric properties of a new research instrument. The secondary aim was to analyze patients' levels of dissatisfaction with the professionalism of medical staff. A social survey questionnaire was created and administered online. The instrument consisted of two scales: the 30-item patient dissatisfaction scale and the 10 items institutional scale. In this article, we assessed only the patient dissatisfaction scale. The research population includes 1838 subjects. The statistical procedures used were descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation, and factorial analyses with the SPSS.19 software. The internal consistency of the instrument was determined using the Cronbach's alpha coefficient. We used a principal component analysis to investigate the factorial validity of the scale. The patients' scale of dissatisfaction obtained an alpha Cronbach score of 0.81. Three latent factors corresponding to three dimensions of dissatisfaction emerged from the data: medical staff's ability to communicate, medical staff's hygiene, as well as sanitary and privacy conditions within the hospital. The first factor explained 43.47% of the variance in patient dissatisfaction, the second factor explained 10.24%, and the third factor explained 7.59%; overall, the three factors explained 61.30% of the total variance. The Romanian healthcare system has an organization and management structure which has shown few changes since the communist period. Our study indicates that although more than 25 years have passed since the political regime changed in Romania and the introduction of a different system of social care, there have been no corresponding changes in the medical staff's mentality or in the way that patients are approached. The present assessment of patient dissatisfaction is not a strictly theoretical exercise; it also represents a valuable instrument for healthcare system management.

The specialists consider that each individual's success depends largely on the ability to adapt to the changing conditions of contemporary society. The more you are willing to learn, the more you can be flexible and open for new opportunities. Students are directly responsible and accountable for their performance, adjusting to the rapidly changing school environment. Motivational orientations like self-efficacy, goal-orientation, test anxiety and personal beliefs are key-elements in trying to be a successful student. The present paper comes to find an answer to the question of which aspects of learning motivation influence the academic performance of secondary school students in Romania. This observational study had two essential points: a pilot study designed to test the instruments and to apply the tested instruments on a sample of 270 middle school students, aged between 12 and 14 years. The research methods used in this investigation is a questionnaire based survey and documents’ analysis. The instrument used was the Motivational Strategies for Learning Questionnaire. We translated the instrument from English to Romanian and adapt it for the Romanian population. The obtained internal consistency coefficient alpha Cronbach for all scales in the pilot study allowed us to apply the questionnaire to the larger population. The results confirm that the investigated variables determine a higher degree of school performance. The degree of innovation that the present paper brings is given by the use of these concepts in a Romanian educational reality, especially in secondary education field. It was concluded that being more confident in their own forces contributes to: internal motivation, adjusting their internal activities, validating the results obtained after a proper referential and improving their level of academic performance.

Improving the informed consent process in clinical research is of constant concern to regulatory authorities in the field and presents a challenge for both the specialists and patients involved. Informed consent is a process that should adequately match the complexity of clinical research. In analyzing the behaviour of 68 patients during the informed consent process related to the clinical research performed at Neomed Clinical Center in Brasov, we found that many patients do not ask any questions (35.3%). From those who do, part of the questions (20,6%) referred to general aspects (addressed the form but not the gist) of the clinical trial, some (72,8%) referred to specific aspects of the clinical trial they will attend and others (6,6%) unrelated to the clinical trial. These results suggest a lack of interest, awareness, and understanding of the information presented in the informed consent form. The possible underlying causes of this attitude and its bureaucratic, ethic, and legal implications are discussed.
