Background: Pes planus is one of the most common foot deformities. Although there are many studies on the effectiveness of various exercise methods in pes planus rehabilitation, the number of studies on video-based game exercise therapy applications is very limited. Objective: This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of 2 video-based game exercise therapies and structured exercise practices in pes planus rehabilitation. Methods: This study is a 3-arm, parallel-group, single-blinded randomized controlled trial. The study will include 69 patients with flexible pes planus aged between 18 and 25 years who attend the orthopedics and traumatology clinic and meet the inclusion criteria. The primary outcomes are measures of navicular drop and pedobarographic analysis before and after the intervention, and the secondary outcomes include balance, femoral anteversion, and lower extremity muscle strength. Participants will be evaluated with a navicular drop test for medial longitudinal arch height, a pedobarographic analysis system for plantar pressure analysis, a Craig test for femoral anteversion, the Becure Balance System for balance measurement, and a myometer device for lower extremity muscle strength measurement. Participants will be randomly assigned to a structured exercise group, an exergame group, or a serious game group according to their order of arrival. The structured exercise group will use a short foot exercise, a towel-picking exercise, and various walking and balance exercises. Patients in the serious play group will play the lower extremity games in the Becure Balance System. Patients in the exergame group will play balance games on the Nintendo Wii game console. All participants will participate in 18 exercise sessions (3 days a week for 6 weeks). After the treatment, the initial measurements will be repeated. Results: The study started in January 2023. It is expected to be completed in June 2024. Conclusions: This study will be the first randomized controlled study to evaluate the effectiveness of 2 different video-based game exercise therapy applications in pes planus rehabilitation. Through this study, the use of video-based game exercise therapy in pes planus rehabilitation, together with the developing technology, will be a guide. In addition, a new exercise protocol, including serious game exercises, will be added to the literature. In the future, it is expected that our study on the development of different game systems, especially for the ankle, will provide pioneering feedback. Background: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of serious game, exergame, and structured exercises in pes planus rehabilitation. Methods: Sixty-nine individuals with pes planus were included in this study. Individuals were randomly divided into three groups: a structured exercise group (SEG), an exergame group (EGG), and a serious game group (SGG). The average age of the participants was 21.02, and their body mass index was 21.91 kg/m 2 . Interventions were performed three times a week for 6 weeks. Navicular drop, plantar pressure analysis, femoral anteversion, balance, and muscle strength were evaluated pre- and post-treatment. A small effect size of 0.2 was applied for navicular drop, balance, and plantar pressure analysis, and a medium effect size of 0.5 for femoral anteversion and muscle strength analysis. Results: Navicular drop and muscle strength improved significantly in all groups ( P < 0.05). The strength of the inverter, plantar flexor, and dorsiflexor muscles was found to be significantly greater in the SGG than in the other groups ( P < 0.05). Balance showed significant improvement only in EGG and SGG ( P < 0.05). The decrease in medial plantar pressure was found to be significant in both feet in SGG and only in the left foot in the SEG ( P < 0.05). The subtalar angle improved significantly in both feet in the SGG and only in the right foot in the SEG ( P < 0.05). No significant change was observed in the EGG ( P > 0.05). Femoral anteversion did not change in any of the three groups ( P > 0.05). Conclusion: Individuals with pes planus obtained more improvements in plantar pressure analysis, subtalar angle, and muscle strength after serious games rather than structured exercises and exergame. It was considered that serious game exercise programs would be used in pes planus.

Background: Physiotherapy technicians are frequently exposed to heavy workloads and high patient volumes, which can lead to physical and emotional strain. Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) and burnout are common among healthcare workers and may negatively impact job satisfaction and overall occupational health. Data specifically addressing physiotherapy technicians, however, remain limited. Objective: To examine the prevalence of WMSDs, burnout, and job satisfaction among physiotherapy technicians working in public and private hospitals. Methods: This observational study was conducted between April 2025 and March 2026. A total of 122 physiotherapy technicians employed in public and private hospitals in Istanbul were included. Demographic data were recorded. The Extended Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire assessed musculoskeletal disorders, the Maslach Burnout Inventory evaluated burnout, and the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire measured job satisfaction. Differences between groups and correlations among the study variables were analyzed. Results: Musculoskeletal pain at any point in life was reported by 91.8% of participants, most commonly in the neck, lower back, and upper back. Musculoskeletal disorder scores were negatively correlated with job satisfaction and positively correlated with emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and total burnout scores. Strong negative correlations were observed between job satisfaction and burnout subdimensions. Technicians in private hospitals had lower job satisfaction and higher emotional exhaustion and depersonalization scores than those in public hospitals. Conclusions: WMSDs are highly prevalent among physiotherapy technicians and are significantly associated with increased burnout and reduced job satisfaction. Implementing workplace ergonomic interventions, improving working conditions, and providing ergonomics training are essential to protect employee health and enhance work performance.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between upper extremity physical fitness levels of wheelchair archery and wheelchair basketball athletes. Methods: Ten wheelchair basketball players and ten wheelchair archers, who met the inclusion criteria were included in the study. Athletes were divided into two groups according to their sports branch. Hand grip strength, shoulder flexibility, reaction time, trunk balance and upper extremity muscle strength were measured among the upper extremity physical fitness parameters. Measurements were repeated separately for both upper extremities. In addition, the demographic data of the individuals were recorded through the questionnaire. Results: There was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of age, height, weight and body mass index (p>0.05). The duration of disability and the year of doing sports were significantly higher in basketball athletes, while weekly training hours were significantly higher in archery athletes (p<0.05). When the groups were compared, there was a statistically significant difference in right hand grip strength, trunk balance and all upper extremity muscle strength parameters in favor of wheelchair basketball athletes (p0.05). Conclusion: According to results, it was thought that these differences between two different sports groups are due to the different nature of the two sports branches and the fact that individuals cannot be distributed homogenously between groups according to the types of disabilities.
