The problem of tumour therapy has attracted the attention of many researchers for many decades. One of the promising strategies for the development of new dosage forms to improve oncology treatment efficacy and minimise side effects is the development of nanoparticle-based targeted transport systems for anticancer drugs. Among inorganic nanoparticles, mesoporous silica deserves special attention due to its outstanding surface properties and drug-loading capability. This review analyses the various factors affecting the cytotoxicity, cellular uptake, and biocompatibility of mesoporous silica nanoparticles (MSNs), constituting a key aspect in the development of safe and effective drug delivery systems. Special attention is paid to technological approaches to chemically modifying MSNs to alter their surface properties. The stimuli that regulate drug release from nanoparticles are also discussed, contributing to the effective control of the delivery process in the body. The findings emphasise the importance of modifying MSNs with different surface functional groups, bio-recognisable molecules, and polymers for their potential use in anticancer drug delivery systems.

Co3O4 nanoparticles synthesized by solution combustion synthesis present a versatile platform for the development of porous nanostructures with tunable morphology and physicochemical properties. Synthesis conditions and parameters such as fuel type; fuel-to-oxidizer ratio and temperature control lead yielding; and Co3O4 NPs with fine particle size, surface area, and porosity result in enhancing their electrochemical and catalytic capabilities. This review evaluates present studies about SCS Co3O4 NPs to study how synthesis parameter modifications affect both surface morphology and material structure characteristics including porosity features, which make their improved performance ideal for lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors. Moreover, the integration of dopants with carbon-based hybrid composites enhances material conductivity and stability by addressing both capacity fading and low electronic conductivity concerns. This review mainly aims to explore the significant relation between fundamental material design principles together with practical uses and provides predictions about future research advancements that aim to enhance the performance of Co3O4 NPs in next-generation energy and environmental technology applications.

Circaea lutetiana (Onagraceae) is a perennial medicinal species widely distributed across temperate forest ecosystems of Europe, Asia, and North America. This mini-review integrates current knowledge on the botanical characteristics, ecological distribution, phytochemical composition, and biological properties of Circaea lutetiana, with particular emphasis on its dominant polyphenolic constituents. Available studies demonstrate that the species is rich in flavonoids, phenolic acids, ellagic acid derivatives, and ellagitannins, among which oenothein B represents a characteristic and major constituent. Beyond polyphenols, structurally characterized glycosides, lipophilic metabolites, phytosterols, triterpenoids, fatty acids, tocopherols, and mineral elements contribute to the chemical complexity of the species. The reported biological activities of Circaea lutetiana, including antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antihypertensive, and antimicrobial effects, are discussed in relation to the phytochemical profile of the plant and the biological significance of its major constituents. Recent research in green nanotechnology has additionally highlighted the potential of Circaea lutetiana extracts, particularly in the biosynthesis of silver nanoparticles, where plant metabolites act as reducing and stabilizing agents and may contribute to improved antimicrobial performance.
