Different CAD software programs used for designing crowns show variations in marginal and internal fit. Marginal and internal discrepancies may cause poorly fitting crowns. The aim of this study was to compare the marginal and internal fit of single crown temporary restorations designed using three different CAD software programs. Dentbird, Exocad and Inlab 20 were used to design temporary single crowns using the same cement gap. Three experimental groups (n = 10/group) were formed based on the CAD software used. Geomagic Control X three-dimensional analysis software was used to compare the marginal and internal fit among the groups. Measurements were obtained at nine different thickness points. IBM SPSS Statistics, version 22 was used for all statistical analyses. Among the CAD software programs tested, Dentbird produced the best internal fit on the buccal surface and the best marginal fit on both buccal and mesial surfaces. Exocad achieved the best values on the distal surface for both internal and marginal fit, while Inlab showed the best values on the mesial surface for internal fit and on the palatal surface for marginal fit. The Dentbird CAD software program provided the most accurate fit values that closely matched the design. The marginal and internal fit oftemporary crowns may vary depending on the CAD software used.

Amaç: Eklemeli imalat yöntemi ile üretilmiş farklı geçici kron materyallerinin, farklı içeceklerde bekletilerek renk stabilitesinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışmada iki farklı 3 boyutlu yazıcı (Formlabs Form 3 ve DentaFab) ile iki farklı geçici kron reçinesi [Formlabs (Temporary C&B) ve DentaFab (Temp Resin) (n=40)] kullanılarak toplam 80 adet geçici kron örneği üretildi. Hazırlanan örnekler, n=10 olmak üzere toplamda 8 gruba ayrıldı. Geçici kron örnekleri renklendirici solüsyona daldırılmadan önce ilk L*, a*, b* değerleri spektrofotometre kullanılarak ölçüldü.

Aim: The aim of this in vitro study was to compare the marginal fit and fracture strength of endocrown restorations applied to maxillary canines, using different manufacturing methods. Methodology: An extracted upper canine tooth was prepared for endocrown placement. Three methods were used to create the endocrowns: Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) 3D printing with Essentium Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) filament, CAD/CAM milling with Juvara PEEK disk, and SLS 3D printing with Cr-Co metal (N=10). Additionally, 30 identical canine tooth replicas were produced using an Asiga 3D printer with a model resin, and the crown restorations were cemented with a resin luting cement. Fracture strengths were tested, and marginal fits were evaluated using Geomagic Control X software. Statistical analysis was performed, and Weibull analysis was used to assess fracture strength values. Results: The laser-sintered endocrowns exhibited higher fracture strength (1351 N) compared to PEEK FDM (735.341 N) and milled PEEK (826.733 N) endocrowns. The highest Weibull modulus was found for milled PEEK (3.978), while the lowest was for the Cr-Co laser-sintered material (2.912). A significant difference in marginal fit was observed on the palatal surface of the PEEK FDM group compared to the other two groups (p=0.048). However, no significant differences were found on the mesial, distal, or buccal surfaces. Conclusion: The findings indicate that PEEK endocrowns produced by FDM and milling offer clinically acceptable fracture strength and marginal fit, with PEEK being closer to the dentin elastic modulus. The significantly higher Weibull modulus of PEEK endocrowns produced by the FDM Printer and milling enables us to make more accurate intraoral fracture predictions.
Complete dentures, which are preferred for edentulous patients in dentistry, are prostheses that are frequently used today and will continue to be used frequently in the future. Due to some disadvantages of traditional complete dentures and the development of the digital age, complete dentures are now designed and manufactured digitally. There are various systems for the production of digital complete dentures and these systems have distinctive features. The systems use additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques for the production of digital complete dentures. These systems reduce the number of sessions and increase patient comfort. The aim of this book chapter is to provide information about the systems used for the production of digital complete dentures.
