Camelia CERBU is a professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Transylvania University of Brasov, Brasov, Romania. She graduated with her bachelor’s studies in machine-building technology (specialization in computer-assisted design and technology) in mechanical engineering from the Faculty of Technological Engineering at Transylvania University of Brasov in 1996. She graduated from a Master’s study program in computer-assisted technological engineering in 1997 at the Transylvania University of Brasov. She obtained a Ph.D. in the field of mechanical engineering in 2006 with a doctoral thesis entitled “Research on Structural Optimization of Parts Made of Composite Materials Mechanically Loaded Under Aggressive Environmental Conditions”. She is a PhD supervisor in the field of mechanical engineering, and her fields of research interest are the mechanics of materials, and the elasticity and plasticity of isotropic and anisotropic materials (composite materials); the analysis of stress and strain states in mechanical structures (analytical methods, finite element method, experimental method); the mechanical testing of materials; and analysis of the effects of environmental factors (moisture, temperature, thermal cycles, etc.) on the characteristics of composite materials.
