Cleber R. Mendonça received his PhD in Physics in 2000 from the University of São Paulo (USP). In 2001 he worked as a postdoctoral fellow at The College of Optics and Photonics (CREOL), USA. He joined the São Carlos Institute of Physics (IFSC) at USP as a Professor in 2001, where he is currently Full Professor. In 2003, together with professors Sergio C. Zilio and Maximo Siu Li, he founded the IFSC Photonics Group. From 2005 to 2007, he worked in microfabrication with ultrashort pulses and ultrafast dynamics as a visiting researcher at Harvard University. He received the ICO / ICTP Gallieno Denardo award in 2010 and was appointed a senior member of OSA in 2013. His current research interests are nonlinear optical processes and microfabrication with femtosecond laser pulses.
