This study examines attitudes toward achieving a sustainable balance in ecotourism using the Stimulus-Organism-Response (SOR) model, focusing on economic and environmental factors shaping sustainable practices. Data were collected from tourists, local residents, and managers in Serbia and Croatia, encompassing diverse perspectives on natural resource conservation, economic benefits, and community engagement. The results indicate that natural resource conservation significantly contributes to local participation, tourist awareness, and community engagement, with notable differences observed among respondent groups. Economic benefits also positively influence these mediating factors, emphasizing their role in achieving sustainability goals. The MGA revealed significant differences between respondent groups, highlighting that managers and local communities in Croatia demonstrated higher levels of awareness and participation compared to Serbia, while differences among tourists were less pronounced. This research contributes to the sustainable tourism literature by integrating perspectives from various stakeholder groups and emphasizing the importance of community involvement and environmental preservation. Practical implications include recommendations for policymakers and managers to develop strategies that encourage stakeholder participation and promote sustainable tourism development.

The paper presents author's views on morphostructural relations on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, which are presented graphically in the form of overview (reduced) morphostructural map in the scale of 1:2,000,000 to 1:2,500,000. The methodology of making morphostructural map, its content and the way of data pre-sentation was considered. Special attention has been paid to morphostructures, the determination of the origin and the difference between structural, morphostructural and morphosculpture relief forms. A brief overview of the geological structure, as well as the geomorphological characteristics of geotectonic, i.e. morphostructural units, is given. Finally, the geomorphological history, morphogenesis and the evolution of the relief of Serbia, from the beginning of the Miocene to the present is presented.

The paper defines and presents the forms of glacial relief formed, most likely, during the last Pleistocene glacial maximum (LGM). A graphic and textual presentation of almost all glacial forms is given on the entire territory of the Sara Mountains, on both sides of their main ridge, from Ljuboten in the NE to the source tributaries of the Radika River in the SW. Based on the height position and spatial development of glacial forms, the height of the snow line (ELA) was determined, glacier types were determined and defined, which is shown on two overview maps representing Pleistocene glacial morphology and reconstructed Pleistocene glaciers referring to the last Pleistocene glacial (MIS-2). Since these are the youngest glacial morphological traces on the Sara Mountains, they are the best preserved today.

This paper describes the frequency analysis of absolute maximum air temperatures, using annual maximum series (AMS) in the period 1961-2010 from 40 climatological stations in Serbia with maximum likelihood estimation of distribution parameters. For the goodness of fit testing of General Extreme Value (GEV), Normal, Log-Normal, Pearson 3 (three parameters), and Log-Pearson 3 distribution, three different tests were used (Kolmogorov-Smirnov, Anderson-Darling, chi-square). Based on the results of these tests (best average rank of certain distribution), the appropriate distribution is selected. GEV distribution proved to be the most appropriate one in most cases. The probability of exceedance of absolute maximum air temperatures on 1%, 0.5%, 0.2%, and 0.1% levels are calculated. A spatial analysis of the observed and modeled values of absolute maximum air temperatures in Serbia is given. The absolute maximum air temperature of 44.9?C was recorded at Smederevska Palanka station, and the lowest value of maximum air temperature 35.8?C was recorded at Zlatibor station, one of the stations with the highest altitude. The modeled absolute maximum air temperatures are the highest at Zajecar station with 44.5?C, 45.6?C, 47.0?C, and 48.0?C and the lowest values are calculated for Sjenica station with 35.5?C, 35.8?C, 36.1?C, and 36.2?C for the return periods of 100, 200, 500, and 1000 years, respectively. Our findings indicate the possible occurrence of much higher absolute maximum air temperatures in the future than the ones recorded on almost all of the analyzed stations.

Mit Beiträgen von H. Bruckner, U. Ermann, A. Strüver, K. Schade, D. Schmied, C. Parnreiter, S. Sroda-Murawska, A. Trupp, R. Diez Pisonero, Li Zhang, R. Kostadinovska, U. Krevs Birk u. a.

Thufur (earth hummocks) are small periglacial landforms typical for subpolar latitudes, as well as for the high alpine areas at lower latitudes. Their presence in the mountains of the Balkan Peninsula was spotted during the mid-20th century. In this paper we analyze morphometry and morphology of thufur in the context of physio-geographical conditions for their formation. The main aims are to inventorize the thufur in the study area and to determine the physio-geographical factors which enabled their formation at non-zonal elevations. Statistical analysis was performed on the sample of 305 thufur mapped in the field, measuring their circumference, height, and delineating their areas. Classification of the results revealed morphological varieties in terms of horizontal and vertical development. The elevation of the sampling location Ponor is 1,410 m a.s.l., which is considerably lower than the zonal periglaciation in Serbia, at approx. 1,900 m. Therefore, the role of relief as a climate modifier is analyzed in the context of conditions for the azonal development of periglaciation process. Topographical conditions for thufur formation were analyzed through slope inclinations and vertical dissection, determined using the Digital Elevation Model over Europe with 25 m resolution.
