This article reviews the most popular energy storage technologies and hybrid energy storage systems. With the dynamic development of the sector of renewable energy sources, it has become necessary to design and implement solutions that enable the maximum use of the energy obtained; for this purpose, an energy storage device is suggested. The most popular methods of electric energy storage are described, with an indication of the features of each technology, along with the presentation of the advantages and disadvantages of a given storage reservoir. Next, hybrid energy storage systems are presented along with their suggested applications and advantages resulting from the hybridization of technologically diverse energy storage systems.
In this paper, a novel, composite material is proposed based on ferromagnetic wires immersed in a polymer that is well suited for 3D printing. The magnetic properties of this material are examined using FEM and compared with the properties of a more traditional composite based on magnetic powder. For a 50% ferromagnetic volume in the material, the proposed composite has a 67% higher value of saturation magnetic flux density and 87% higher value of maximum permeability, compared with the powder-based material. The authors believe that the proposed material could be used in the manufacturing of small electromechanical devices such as energy harvesters, thus vastly widening the possible fields of application related to 3D printing techniques.
A precise control of rotational speed and torque in case of Synchronous Reluctance Machine (SynRM) usually requires an accurate mathematical model of such an electric motor. This is followed by the necessity of the determination of a highly nonlinear and multi-dimensional relation between currents and magnetic flux linkages, that is present in this type of electrical machines. In the paper, a method of an approximation of this relation based on the measurement data is presented. The proposed measurement method can be used in the drive system that incorporates a standard topology 3-phase inverter and a brake, with no additional elements (e.g. additional rotating machine) required. The processing algorithm of the measurement results that ensures an accurate approximation based low amount of data is also described. The presented method is incorporated in a prototype drive system using a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) and the obtained results are presented and discussed.
W artykule porównano dwa prototypy bezszczotkowych silników prądu stałego (PM BLDC), których rdzenie wykonano z materiału amorficznego (ASMM) i blachy elektrotechnicznej (Fe-Si). Badania porównawcze wykonano korzystając z symulacji komputerowej w programie ANSYS i eksperymentu laboratoryjnego.
