Adrian Florea is a Professor in Computer Science and Engineering at the Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu (LBUS), Romania. He completed his PhD studies in Computer Science from 'Politehnica' University of Bucharest, Romania in 2005. He received the ‘Tudor Tanasescu’ Romanian Academy Award in 2005 and the ‘Ad Augusta Per Angusta’ Award for Young Researcher in June 2007 from LBUS, for scientific research. He is a HiPEAC affiliate member and ACM Senior member. He has published over 9 books and 111 scientific papers. He was a researcher in the "iRead” H2020 project (2017-2021), and the technical coordinator of "DigiFoF" - the Erasmus+ KA2 strategic project (2019-2021). He won two grants (2016, 2021) financed by the EEA Financial Mechanism for building capacities and developing digital platforms with applicability in smart cities and smart agriculture. He is also local coordinator of ‘EoFSSS’ KA220-VET project (2022-2024), an initiative of Erasmus+ funding mechanism for vocational training. Professor Florea is local coordinator of the 'RONAQCI' project within the Digital Europe programme (2023-2025) and of the ‘CoDEMO’ project, an initiative supported by the Erasmus+ funding mechanism (2023-2026). His domains of professional interest include Advanced Computing Architectures, Prediction, Speculation, IoT, Embedded Systems, Software scheduling, Simulation and Benchmarking, Evolutionary Computing, Genetics Algorithms, Multi-obective Optimization Problems, Educational software.
