He worked 12 years as a project leader and research professor, developing technological solutions for the industry, government, and private sector at CIDESI of CONACyT (Center for Engineering and Industrial Development). During this time, he participated in several projects that generated patents and copyrights.Since 2021, he has been working as a research professor at the Faculty of Informatics, where he is responsible for the CIICCTE (Research and Innovation Center in Computer Science and Educational Technology), which he helped establish. Additionally, he was a committee member involved in creating the Data Science and Analytics degree program. His responsibilities include supervising undergraduate, Master's, and Doctoral theses, teaching relevant subjects, engaging in technological development and research, and collaborating with the productive sector. Throughout his academic career, he has authored and co-authored internationally recognized scientific articles and supervised numerous Master's and Doctoral theses. His current research focuses on artificial perception for automatic scene interpretation, non-Turing computing models, associative computing, and machine learning. He is a regular reviewer for various scientific journals, a Mexican Artificial Intelligence Consortium of CONACyT member, and serves as an evaluator for RENIECYT.
