Citrus fruit diseases have an egregious impact on both the quality and quantity of the citrus fruit production and market. Automatic detection of severity is essential for the high-quality production of fruit. In the current work, a citrus fruit dataset is preprocessed by rescaling and establishing bounding boxes with labeled image software. Then, a selective search, which combines the capabilities of both an extensive search and graph-based segmentation, is applied. The proposed deep neural network (DNN) model is trained to detect targeted areas of the disease with its severity level using citrus fruits that have been labeled with the help of a domain expert with four severity levels (high, medium, low and healthy) as ground truth. Transfer learning using VGGNet is applied to implement a multi-classification framework for each class of severity. The model predicts the low severity level with 99% accuracy, and the high severity level with 98% accuracy. The model demonstrates 96% accuracy in detecting healthy conditions and 97% accuracy in detecting medium severity levels. The result of the work shows that the proposed approach is valid, and it is efficient for detecting citrus fruit disease at four levels of severity.

Breast cancer forms in breast cells and is considered as a very common type of cancer in women. Breast cancer is also a very life-threatening disease of women after lung cancer. A convolutional neural network (CNN) method is proposed in this study to boost the automatic identification of breast cancer by analyzing hostile ductal carcinoma tissue zones in whole-slide images (WSIs). The paper investigates the proposed system that uses various convolutional neural network (CNN) architectures to automatically detect breast cancer, comparing the results with those from machine learning (ML) algorithms. All architectures were guided by a big dataset of about 275,000, 50 × 50-pixel RGB image patches. Validation tests were done for quantitative results using the performance measures for every methodology. The proposed system is found to be successful, achieving results with 87% accuracy, which could reduce human mistakes in the diagnosis process. Moreover, our proposed system achieves accuracy higher than the 78% accuracy of machine learning (ML) algorithms. The proposed system therefore improves accuracy by 9% above results from machine learning (ML) algorithms.

The Industrial Internet of Things has gained more attention because of the self-governing nature of system configuration with interoperable application connectivity. In the E-Healthcare environment, it cooperates with medical sensors to capture, examine, analyze, preserve, and document day-to-day transactions of patients in real-time. The integration of E-healthcare and IIoT provides an analytical platform to handle a large amount of data with a low cost of cloud-enabling scalable storage. Throughout the transformation, patients’ personal information is at risk while exchanging records over centralized server-based systems. Thus, the rate of node connectivity, failure of parallel data sharing, and deliverance-related issues increase. In this paper, we present solutions in three folds. First, the paper proposes a novel and secure architecture for E-healthcare data security using a blockchain-distributed ledger technology named BHIIoT. Second, the transformation in the lifecycle of medical wireless sensor networks for data management and optimization with a distributed layered hierarchy is developed, which enhances the network resources and increases trust in the blockchain-enabled peer-to-peer environment. Third, the proposed BHIIoT uses the NuCypher threshold re-encryption mechanism for data encryption and protects shared resources in the form of blocks preserved in a blockchain immutable storage. For instance, chain codes are deployed to automate authentication, logging, index information deliverance, and trace transactions to resist illegal activities in the E-Healthcare distributed-application. The customized lightweight blockchain multi-proof-of-work and multi-proof-of-stake are designed with a digital signature for improving the consumption of resources and reducing the load of storage while the transaction process of E-healthcare IIoT is scheduled.

The integration of AI and the IoT in education has the potential to revolutionize the way we learn. Personalized learning, real-time feedback and support, and immersive learning experiences are some of the benefits that AI and the IoT can bring to the education system. In this regard, this research paper aims to investigate how AI and the IoT can be integrated into sustainable education in order to provide students with personalized and immersive learning experiences during pandemics, such as COVID-19, for smart cities. The study’s key findings report that AI can be employed in sustainable education through personalized learning. AI-powered algorithms can be used to analyze student data and create personalized learning experiences for each student. This includes providing students with tailored content, assessments, and feedback that align with their unique learning style and pace. Additionally, AI can be used to communicate with students in a more natural and human-like way, making the learning experience more engaging and interactive. Another key aspect of the integration of AI and the IoT in education obtained from this research is the ability to provide real-time feedback and support. IoT-enabled devices, such as smart cameras and microphones, can be used to monitor student engagement and provide real-time feedback. AI algorithms can then use these data to adapt the learning experience in real time. IoT-enabled devices, such as tablets and laptops, can be used to collect and process student work, allowing for the automatic grading of assignments and assessments. Additionally, IoT technology can facilitate remote monitoring and grading of student work, which would be particularly useful for students who cannot attend traditional classroom settings. Furthermore, AI and the IoT can also be used to create intelligent personal learning environments (PLEs) that provide students with personalized, adaptive, and engaging learning experiences. IoT-enabled devices, such as smart cameras and microphones, combined with AI-powered algorithms, can provide real-time feedback and support, allowing the PLE to adapt to the student’s needs and preferences. It is concluded that integrating AI and the IoT in sustainable education can revolutionize the way people learn, providing students with personalized, real-time feedback and support and opening up new opportunities for remote and disadvantaged students. However, it will be important to ensure that the use of AI and the IoT in education is ethical and responsible to ensure that all students have equal access to the benefits of these technologies.

Sign language encompasses the movement of the arms and hands as a means of communication for people with hearing disabilities. An automated sign recognition system requires two main courses of action: the detection of particular features and the categorization of particular input data. In the past, many approaches for classifying and detecting sign languages have been put forward for improving system performance. However, the recent progress in the computer vision field has geared us towards the further exploration of hand signs/gestures’ recognition with the aid of deep neural networks. The Arabic sign language has witnessed unprecedented research activities to recognize hand signs and gestures using the deep learning model. A vision-based system by applying CNN for the recognition of Arabic hand sign-based letters and translating them into Arabic speech is proposed in this paper. The proposed system will automatically detect hand sign letters and speaks out the result with the Arabic language with a deep learning model. This system gives 90% accuracy to recognize the Arabic hand sign-based letters which assures it as a highly dependable system. The accuracy can be further improved by using more advanced hand gestures recognizing devices such as Leap Motion or Xbox Kinect. After recognizing the Arabic hand sign-based letters, the outcome will be fed to the text into the speech engine which produces the audio of the Arabic language as an output.

COVID-19 presents an urgent global challenge because of its contagious nature, frequently changing characteristics, and the lack of a vaccine or effective medicines. A model for measuring and preventing the continued spread of COVID-19 is urgently required to provide smart health care services. This requires using advanced intelligent computing such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, cognitive computing, cloud computing, fog computing, and edge computing. This paper proposes a model for predicting COVID-19 using the SIR and machine learning for smart health care and the well-being of the citizens of KSA. Knowing the number of susceptible, infected, and recovered cases each day is critical for mathematical modeling to be able to identify the behavioral effects of the pandemic. It forecasts the situation for the upcoming 700 days. The proposed system predicts whether COVID-19 will spread in the population or die out in the long run. Mathematical analysis and simulation results are presented here as a means to forecast the progress of the outbreak and its possible end for three types of scenarios: “no actions,” “lockdown,” and “new medicines.” The effect of interventions like lockdown and new medicines is compared with the “no actions” scenario. The lockdown case delays the peak point by decreasing the infection and affects the area equality rule of the infected curves. On the other side, new medicines have a significant impact on infected curve by decreasing the number of infected people about time. Available forecast data on COVID-19 using simulations predict that the highest level of cases might occur between 15 and 30 November 2020. Simulation data suggest that the virus might be fully under control only after June 2021. The reproductive rate shows that measures such as government lockdowns and isolation of individuals are not enough to stop the pandemic. This study recommends that authorities should, as soon as possible, apply a strict long-term containment strategy to reduce the epidemic size successfully.
