Angelo De Santis is a Professor of Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, and Earth Magnetism at the University of Chieti-Pescara, Rome La Sapienza University, and Roma Tre University, respectively, and the Director of Research at INGV. His main research interest is understanding how the planet works and how its layers interact, with a particular focus on mechanic and electromagnetic couplings, including the studies in the disciplines of geosystemics, seismotectonics, geomagnetism, and ionospheric physics. He was the coordinator of the ESA-funded project SAFE and is responsible for the study of seismo-associated phenomena in the present ASI-funded project Limadou Science. He is also presently scientifically responsible for the Italian Government (MIUR)-funded project InSea.
