Prof. Dr. Alessandro Pezzoli has a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering–Hydraulic Option (Politecnico di Torino, Italy) and a PhD in Meteorology and Oceanography (Université de Toulon, France). He is a Senior Lecturer (Adjunct Professor) in Weather Risk Management for the MBA program in Environmental Economics and in Meteo-Hydrology Risk Assessment for the MSc program in Geography and Regional Development at the University of Turin. He has extensive expertise in Applied Meteorology and Applied Climatology considering his research on the analysis of adaptation strategies to natural hazards generated by extreme weather situations. In addition, he is an Associate Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation (AFRIN), a Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society (FRMetS), and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS).
