Background: Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing occupational health and safety (OHS) by addressing workplace hazards and enhancing employee well-being. This review explores the broader context of increasing automation and digitalization, focusing on the role of human–AI interaction in improving workplace health, safety, and productivity while considering associated challenges. Methods: A narrative review methodology was employed, involving a comprehensive literature search in PubMed, Embase, and Scopus for studies published within the last 25 years. After screening for relevance and eligibility, a total of 52 articles were included in the final analysis. These publications examined various AI applications in OHS, such as wearable technologies, predictive analytics, and ergonomic tools, with a focus on their contributions and limitations. Results: Key findings demonstrate that AI enhances hazard detection, enables real-time monitoring, and improves training through immersive simulations, significantly contributing to safer and more efficient workplaces. However, challenges such as data privacy concerns, algorithmic biases, and reduced worker autonomy were identified as significant barriers to broader AI adoption in OHS. Conclusions: AI holds great promise in transforming OHS practices, but its integration requires ethical frameworks and human-centric collaboration models to ensure transparency, equity, and worker empowerment. Addressing these challenges will allow workplaces to harness the full potential of AI in creating safer, healthier, and more sustainable environments.

Background: Fear and anxiety are common psychological responses to unpleasant stimuli, with dental fear being the fourth most prevalent type of fear or phobia. However, not all dental procedures cause the same level of anxiety, with dental surgery and tooth extraction being among the top five most frightening procedures in the field. Tooth extractions are also the most common surgical procedure in dental surgery. It is important to manage anxiety in the dental office by identifying the main factors. Methods: The study was conducted on a group of 250 patients. The survey technique and the Beliefs about Pain Control Questionnaire (BPCQ) were used in the study. Pain and stress intensity on a Visual Analog Scale (VAS) were measured in each patient before and after tooth extraction procedures. Results: Young women and people from small towns had the highest levels of anxiety. The factor causing the highest level of anxiety was fear of complications. Patients undergoing extraction of retained teeth were characterized by higher levels of anxiety. Conclusions: Perioperative stress is strongly dependent on numerous factors. For patient comfort, it may be crucial for dentists to have knowledge about these factors and the ability to utilize them to reduce stress before and after tooth extractions.

The International Agency for Research on Cancer has classified the consumption of heat-processed meat as a direct human carcinogen and the consumption of red meat as a probable carcinogen. Mutagenic and carcinogenic compounds present in meat dishes include, among others, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and heterocyclic aromatic amines (HAAs). These compounds can cause the development of gastrointestinal cancer. Oral cancer is one of the world’s research priorities due to the ever-increasing incidence rate. However, the effect of diet on oral cancer is still a poorly recognized issue. The aim of this study was to assess the relationship between the risk of oral cancer and dietary ingredients with a particular emphasis on red meat and thermally processed meat. This study was conducted among patients with oral cancer in 2022 and 2023. The shortened standardized Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and a multivariate regression statistical analysis were used. The high consumption of red meat in general and thermally processed meat, especially smoked, fried, roasted and boiled, increases the risk of oral cavity cancer. Limiting the consumption of meat products and modifying the methods of preparing meat dishes may reduce exposure to carcinogenic compounds from the diet and thus reduce the risk of developing oral cancer.

Chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, or asthma are one of the biggest health challenges of the modern world. Their management requires constant care and monitoring, which is a serious burden for healthcare systems. In the digital era, the development of telemedicine, health applications, and telemedicine platforms creates new opportunities in the treatment and monitoring of patients with chronic diseases. Telemedicine, including services such as remote consultations, telemonitoring, and remote rehabilitation, allows patients to access healthcare without having to physically visit the office. Mobile applications allow patients to monitor their health condition, receive medication reminders, or consult with doctors, which increases their involvement in the treatment process. The benefits of telemedicine include improving the availability of health services, especially in rural areas, and saving time and money. Remote monitoring of health parameters allows for a faster response in the event of a deterioration in the patient's condition, and integration with artificial intelligence technology and the Internet of Things (IoT) allows for even more accurate monitoring of health status. Health apps are particularly useful in managing chronic diseases such as diabetes or heart disease, improving control over therapy, and self-management of health. The future of telemedicine, supported by the development of technology, promises further improvements in the care of patients with chronic diseases. The introduction of more individualized medical services based on real-time data can significantly improve the quality of care and reduce the costs of treatment, constituting a key element of the future of healthcare systems.

Bruxism, the involuntary grinding or clenching of teeth, is a condition increasingly prevalent in modern society, with stress identified as a major contributing factor. A comprehensive review of recent studies explores the psychological and physiological mechanisms underlying bruxism, differentiating between its manifestations during sleep and wakefulness. This article examines the intricate relationship between stress and bruxism, focusing on lifestyle determinants such as work-life imbalance, excessive screen time, and unhealthy behaviors. The health implications of bruxism are severe, including enamel wear, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, headaches, and disrupted sleep patterns. Diagnostic challenges persist due to the multifaceted nature of the condition, but advances in treatment offer promising results. Effective management strategies discussed include stress-reduction techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and dental interventions such as occlusal splints. The article emphasizes the importance of interdisciplinary approaches that combine dental, psychological, and medical expertise to provide holistic care for individuals with bruxism.Furthermore, the discussion underscores the societal implications of chronic stress as a driver of bruxism, advocating for early detection and comprehensive treatment strategies. Future research should prioritize refining diagnostic tools and evaluating the long-term efficacy of integrated treatment methods. Additionally, public health initiatives aimed at stress management and raising awareness of lifestyle factors impacting oral health are critical to preventing bruxism on a broader scale. By addressing the root causes of stress and promoting healthier behaviors, it is possible to mitigate the impact of this increasingly common condition, contributing to improved overall health and well-being.
