Agnieszka Sękara obtained her M.Sc. in biology from Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. She completed her Ph.D. in Horticulture from the University of Agriculture of Krakow, Faculty of Biotechnology and Horticulture, Krakow, Poland. She is currently an associate professor at the Department of Horticulture, University of Agriculture of Krakow. She also serves as the editor-in-chief of Folia Horticulturae. Her current research interests include the reaction of horticultural crops to stress factors (stress memory and cross-tolerance), the relationships between living organism and the environment in horticultural ecosystems, phytoremediation, and the biodiversity of horticultural plants and mushrooms in the present day and historical context (ethnobotany and herbaria).
