This study presents the power Mira distribution, an innovative three-parameter probability model that improves baseline distributions by including an extra shaping parameter. The suggested distribution has exceptional adaptability in representing various data characteristics, such as left and right skewness, declining trends, and unimodal patterns. These characteristics render it exceptionally appropriate for modeling risk-related data, an essential component of actuarial science and insurance analytics. We do an extensive theoretical study, delineating essential statistical features and offering a robust framework for parameter estimation. Critical risk metrics, including value-at-risk and tail value-at-risk, are calculated and assessed using comprehensive numerical simulations, validating the precision and efficacy of the suggested estimators. We illustrate the practical value of the power Mira distribution by applying it to a real-world insurance loss dataset and comparing its performance with established models. The findings underscore its exceptional goodness-of-fit and flexibility, affirming its capability as an effective instrument for risk assessment and financial modeling.

This paper presents a novel probability distribution, namely the XLindley distribution, derived from a unique combination of exponential and gamma distributions through a special mixture formulation. The study extensively investigates the mathematical properties of the proposed distribution, including but not limited to the moment generation function, moments of different orders, mode identification, and the quantile function. Furthermore, the research employs a Monte Carlo simulation to assess and compare the performance of various estimators in estimating the unknown parameter of the XLindley distribution. These estimators are carefully evaluated and analyzed in terms of their efficiency and accuracy, providing valuable insights into the practical application of the new distribution in statistical modeling and data analysis contexts. The voltage and failure time data in the field of engineering are used to model the proposed distribution. The new model is compared with many current distributions such as Xlindley, gamma, Weibull, exponential, Lindley, Shanker, Akash, Zeghdoudi, Chris-Jerry, and Xgamma. Among all models, it is concluded that the new one-parameter distribution performed the best in modeling based on criteria such as the Akaike information criterion, Bayesian information criterion, and others. The real data results show that the proposed distribution exhibits greater flexibility and improved goodness of fit compared to alternative distributions. The new XLindley distribution could be useful in modeling real-life data and may warrant further exploration in future research. Overall, this study contributes to the field of probability distributions and provides new insights for statistical modeling.

Here, we present a new bounded distribution known as the power Lambert uniform distribution, and we deduce some of its statistical properties such as quantile function, moments, incomplete moments, mean residual life and mean inactivity time, Lorenz, Bonferroni, and Zenga curves, and order statistics. We presented different shapes of the probability density function and the hazard function of the proposed model. Eleven traditional methods are used to estimate its parameters. The behavior of these estimators is investigated using simulation results. Some actuarial measures are derived mathematically for our proposed model. Some numerical computations for these actuarial measures are given for some choices of parameters and significance levels. A new quantile regression model is constructed based on the new unit distribution. The maximum likelihood estimation method is used to estimate the unknown parameters of the regression model. Furthermore, the usability of the new distribution and regression models is demonstrated with the COVID-19 and educational datasets, respectively.

Many empirical studies have shown that educational games and recent technologies impact education and increase learning effectiveness, students’ motivation and engagement. The overall aim of this study is to evaluate the usability of Imikode, a virtual reality (VR) game that was developed to introduce the concepts of object-oriented programming to novices. The improved version of the Imikode VR game consists of three features: An artificial intelligence component designed to provide real-time error feedback to users, an intelligent agent that guides and teaches users how to play the game and finally, the integration of multiple game play that gives learners more opportunities to explore the VR environment for greater immersive learning experience. This study adopted a survey approach and recruited first-year computer science students to measure learner satisfaction with educational virtual reality games and examined the correlations among the attributes of the Usefulness, Satisfaction and Ease of Use questionnaire of usage of Imikode. The results showed that the students were satisfied with Imikode and perceived the virtual reality educational game as very useful for learning object-oriented programming concepts. In addition, there was a correlation among the questionnaire variables, which means that researchers can use the instrument for future usability studies in the context. We further proffered some design recommendations for building software tools.

The study deals with a new statistical distribution based on the two-parameter chen distribution and its development into a four-parameter distribution by adding the two parameters of the Gompertz-Neutrosophic family, preceded by the development of a Gene distribution model according to the neutrosophic logic, and the new distribution is called the Gompertz-Neutrosophic chen distribution (NGoC). Many basic statistical and mathematical properties of the proposed distribution are presented. The model parameters are estimated using three statistical estimation methods. To determine the efficiency of the NGoC distribution estimation, Monte Carlo simulation is used to determine the bias, squared errors, and root mean square errors. Finally, to determine the efficiency of the proposed distribution, a practical application will be conducted on real neutrosophic data, and a comparison will be made between the NGoC distribution and five other distributions using six statistical measures, where the results showed the flexibility and efficiency of the proposed neutrosophic distribution.

This study uses the quantitative research approach to examine the connection between students’ teamwork experience, self-regulated learning, technology self-efficacy, and performance in an online educational technology course. Sixty-three (63) students participated in this study. The study data were collected through an online questionnaire that included background information, course satisfaction, motivation strategies for learning, and online technology self-efficacy, to study the variables’ interactions using quantitative research. To realize this study’s aims, multivariate regression and correlation approaches were employed to analyze the online students’ data. The multivariate regression analysis results show a relationship between self-regulated learning, the online course level, and the number of online courses that the students have completed. Right self-regulated learning strategies in online courses motivate students to strive for a good teamwork experience, leading to increased interest in online learning. In addition, the results also show that there is a relationship between satisfaction and the level of the online course. Achieving good grades makes the student more satisfied and improves the level of technology use. Finally, this study established a relationship between the students’ motivation and the online course level. Therefore, teachers and course designers should implement learning objects that promote students’ engagement and motivation in online learning environments.
